I couldn’t be more happy with this purchase! This thing is sweet! Slim profile sleek look great design. Works great with my Mac and has preformed perfect with PS, Krita, I have even used it for some 3D modeling! Great size (11.6”) display area. .453” thick. It has 6 shortcut keys with a touch bar that are all programmable. HD display that seems to have better resolution than my MacBook. The pen is very comfortable that doesn’t require charging. The pen has 8192 levels of pressure that you can adjust to your drawing technique. The tablet comes with all the required cables to get you up and running including a glove and screen wipe. I have had a blast with this device and would 100% recommend it. Thank you xp pen for making an affordable graphics tablet!

Great accessories that come with it, installed wonderfully, and makes digital drawing like drawing on paper.Only issue is with pen pressure features, but I think that’s due to Photoshop Elements and not the tablet.Good buy!

XP-Pen’s screen/tablet doesn’t officially support Linux, but it works. I plugged all the cables into a NUC running Linux, set it running and it works. No driver installation. It just works. All the normal clicks work and it works with Gimp (Linux Photoshop). I took a chance because nobody could confirm that it would work.I haven’t programmed any buttons and I have no idea if the pressure sensitivity works but, for my purposes, what it already does is fine.Minor issues: the power button is tucked under the connecting cable so it is inconvenient. The whole thing would be improved if it used USB-type C connectors that could provide both signals and power.I ‘discovered’ that the NUC’s yellow USB output can power the tablet/screen so, for me, there is no need to use XP-Pen’s power block or the extension USB cable. For Linux users check out DIGImend on the web for more advanced driver information.

Not that I’m a pro or anything, to judge it as an entry level product, but I see it as that because of the price. The price makes it easier to give it a shot, and if you like it, you can save for a bigger one. Personally, I think it is amazing. Being in IT, the interface and response of this device is perfect. 1920×1080 in a 12″ display looks great. The customizable buttons make it easy to set them up however you like. CNTL-Z (undo)? YES, PLEASE!I use it with Krita and it works perfect. I’m familiar with GIMP, so there really wasn’t a learning curve for me, but how quick a drawing can come together is awesome, and no eraser lines! If you are hesitant to move into the digital art world, I don’t think you will be disappointed with this device for the price. Your only regret may be not getting a bigger one after you learn how awesome these things are.If they made a wireless version, I could easily see these making it into the business world in conference rooms taking the place of $5k+ mondopads.

So I bought this product on March 4th with the money I got from my job.(Today is 8/29/19) This was my first drawing tablet and lemme tell you, It is amazing for beginners Literally all you gotta do is take it out of the box, plug it in and download the drivers and it’ll work right away. The screen also looks really good with a few different presets to change how the colors look. The feel of the screen is so amazing too, you can never get this sorta feel on a wacom intuos or anything. It’s more like drawing on an ipad or a gloss screen but it actually seems more appealing than the paper feel screen craze that I’ve heard so much about. It also has 6 programmable keys and a scroll wheel type thing that you just run your finger across and it can zoom in and out or change your brush size super easily. And yes, for the left hand users out there(Like me), you can easily turn the tablet into a left handed one by flipping your screen to 180 in the tablet settings under display settings and that’ll make it where you can use the tablet keys and scroll wheel with your right hand instead. Although keep in mind that once you flip it, it’ll flip both your computer screen and your tablet screen. If you don’t want it to do that, you just have to make the tablet not mirror the computer screen but instead be a whole other monitor. Now for the only bad thing I have to say. Sooo after a few months of having the tablet, my specific tablet’s screen started blinking on and off and would sometimes just not come back on for a while I dealt with this problem for the past few weeks cause it wasn’t as bad before but a few days ago, it just got so bad that It was nearly impossible to use it without having a freak out cause it’s so annoying. Although this is where the bad part ends because I eventually decided to contact the customer support through email and after a few days worth of emails back and forth, they told me to just give the amazon order number and she’ll send me the same product back to me if I send mine back. They also told me that if I’d send the receipt for the shipping fees, they’d give me a full refund for that too. (They were extreeemely nice to me during this entire email string by the way) I replied asking if it would cost extra if I didn’t have all of the accessories because I had recently gotten rid of the wall adapters cause I didn’t need them because I don’t plan on traveling. They then told me that it would be no problem at all and to just send what I have back. They also told me that they’d just send me a return label so that I didn’t have to have any money for shipping to begin with.(Because my mom would have to pay it and she doesn’t get paid until next week. So all in all, I’m getting the entire tablet again, completely new, 5 months after buying it. And I didn’t even buy any warranty’s for the product either. As long as you can prove that you bought the product less than 14 months ago(Which you should be able to with your amazon order number), they’ll send you a completely new tablet if yours breaks, without buying extra warranty’s and with no costs to you at all for it. Idk if this is a normal thing for businesses but it really did make my day. I was really worried that because I didn’t get a warranty, I would have to buy a whole other tablet to replace it. But I didn’t, I’m very happy choosing to buy from XP-Pen and willl 100% buy their products in the future.

I think this is a great tablet. I wanted to upgrade from my wacom intuos Pro to a screen tablet. This is easy to use, easy to set up, the screen and colors are clear and precise, and I really notice the more sensitive pen pressure. I don’t know if being able to adjust screen brightness is a common thing among screen tablets, but I really appreciate it because I often work in the dark.I have two things that would make ease of use a bit better; For one the pen only has one button. I really miss the two buttons from my intuos pen as they were my brush size adjusters and I need that a lot. The other thing is the power button is situated underneath the vertical laying usb cable, meaning that cable blocks the button. It’s a very minor thing, but I have to wedge my fingernail between there just to press it.

Being that the Artist 12 is only $250, I was a little skeptical before trying it out myself. However this tablet is amazing! I love this tablet! It works so well and is a great price!- Setup was quick and easy, I had no problems.- The Artist 12 is very responsive. There was no lag while drawing.- The express keys are easy to customize and also work very well.- The display is also excellent, it’s very vibrant and crisp.I really enjoy drawing on the Artist 12. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a tablet with a screen. I am definitely not disappointed and it has exceeded my expectations.

**Edited To Add: Other reviewers have said that it’s not possible to change the orientation of the tablet without changing the orientation of the main display while duplicating displays. This is WRONG. It’s an easy (but not obvious) fix in Windows’ display settings. In there, choose to “Extend these displays.” Then, select the tablet from the numbered monitors at the top and choose the orientation you want below. After you’ve done that, change “Extend these displays” to “Duplicate.” If you follow these steps correctly, your tablet’s display orientation will have changed while your other display’s orientation remains unchanged. (This may or may not work for keeping different resolutions also. I’m fortunate in that my monitor’s resolution is the same as my tablet’s so I have not tampered with it in that regard.)**Before this, I was using a big 15″ tablet with no display. I tried for months to get used to watching my monitor while scribbling on a dead plastic paperweight but I never truly adjusted. I ended up drawing almost exclusively with traditional pen and paper, scanning my drawings, and then tracing with my editor’s pen tool instead. So, when my brother offered to buy me a tablet with a display, I was excited and nervous. I wanted something both awesome and affordable. XP-PEN’s Artist series was recommended in more than one place, so I bought the Artist12.It arrived in a pretty box, undamaged and on time. It included the tablet, a pen, a pen-holder, all the necessary cables, a screen wiping cloth, and a two-finger glove. I’ve seen other reviewers mention that the set-up process was a little tricky and I suppose I can see how it would be for some. But the instructions come with labeled pictures and the set-up wizard that triggers after you install the driver software gives you a step-by-step as well. I had it set up in minutes.Something I forgot to do any research on before my tablet purchase was its accessibility for lefties. Thankfully, I was not punished for my laziness in that regard! I was easily able to rotate the display in the tablet’s software so that I could physically flip the tablet, putting the buttons on the right-hand side to prevent accidental button presses while drawing. After setting it all up, the first thing I noticed was how much better this pen feels in my hand. I know there are probably some who prefer round styluses, but I definitely prefer the hexagonal shape of the XP-PEN stylus. My old rounded one had a button on the pen itself as well but, since it was round, I was constantly pressing it on accident (the pen would rotate while I drew) so I had to shut it off. With this one, I can avoid pressing the button except when I mean to and that is awesome! It also has an eraser, something my old stylus did not. Another nifty thing is that the stylus comes with a nifty little canister for storing the pen and nibs when not in use. It has a good weight to it and a rubber bottom that prevents it from sliding around my desk or being easily knocked over.My test sketch went great. There was no significant parallax, it was calibrated perfectly, it was very responsive to pressure, and my lines were so much smoother than the ones I made on my old tablet. After sketching for a little while, I went in to the tablet’s software and customized the tablet buttons as well as the button on the stylus. It was really easy and is going to save me a lot of time in the future. There is a touch-sensitive area you can use to scroll in/out (for zooming) with three buttons above and three buttons below. The two middle buttons each have little nubs on them so you can easily tell which one you’re pressing even in the dark. The ONLY gripe I have about this tablet is that the power button is located beneath the plug-in, so it’s not as easy to turn it off as it could be. That’s such a small complaint that I’m not going to dock a star for it.All-in-all, I love this thing. I would recommend XP-PEN’s Artist series to anyone who is in the market for an affordable drawing tablet with a display.

EDIT: DON’T LISTEN to the people saying “pen sensitivity isn’t working with PS” or “drivers not installing”… Maybe learn how to use your computer before you buy this, there are in depth instructions to set EVERYTHING up. I have a degree in Animation AND have used the best of the best drawing monitors/tablets and this is easily a 10/10. People automatically see “wacom” and think they’re the best lol no.. They’re just the most popular and if Xp-pen keeps it up they’ll be just as known as wacom, for the elitists out there, take a breath and read the instructions.Been using this for about 3 months now and it’s 100% worth every penny. I’m an animator (2d/3d) and this tablet fits my needs. Easily up there with any wacom (monitor) drawing tablet. The pen feels great and comes with extra nibs and a stand. Overall a 10!

  10. Billaking

My daughter is in photography and had this tablet setting on her desk. I am into gadgets so I asked her what was it. She turned it on and light bulbs went off in my head. I converted my van into a camper van and found this tablet an excellent extension to my Mac for dual screen work.As a software developer (occupation) I have been doing remote work since COVID-19 and trying to do design work is a problem. At the office we had white boards to do functional design sketches. This tablet came in handy in many ways. My boss might talk the agency into purchasing them for all of our developers. For example: White boarding and collaboration is not fun and drawings turns out bad when you have to look at a monitor while your hands are somewhere else drawing. This tablet does not work like that. It allows the loading of Microsoft Teams Whiteboard into the screen and then lets us use tools like collaborate – looking directly at the document your marking up.Drawing directly on the screen on a tablet is way better than using my WACOM tablet. I’m just saying!
