  1. Ashley Donaldson

We’ve put 3 different apartment laminate/floating floors down with these tools and they work perfectly! We have no complaints everything we needed to successfully put the flooring down with came in this box/package.

  2. Alcuin

Purchased to install vinyl plank in my own home. This set was perfect for my needs. The bar was solid and the tapping block worked great. Durable enough to last the project and keep for the next one. Not sure how it would hold up if purchased to be used by a contractor or on a daily basis.

I purchased this for a 600 square foot, 1/2″ thick engineered flooring installation in my home. For $22 my expectations for quality weren’t that high. I’m originally from the electrical trades and rarely buy low quality tools. I’ve installed 3/4″ hardwood flooring before but this was my first engineered flooring project. I figured for $22 bucks a lower quality kit will get me started and if it doesn’t last, then lesson learned and I’ll purchase a better one if needed. I have to say the quality exceeded my expectations. The pull bar is heavy gauge and has felt pads so it doesn’t scratch the floor as you use it. I also was expecting a fisher-price type hammer but the hammer is a decent quality FOR WHAT IT’S DESIGNED TO DO. The spacers came in handy as well. Keep in mind….the pull bar, hammer and tapping block are not meant to endure heavy blows – they’re meant to “tap” pieces and ensure a snug fit. Realistically, you use a little more force than just tapping, but you’re doing something wrong if you need to whale the hammer into the block. I can only imagine those that said the bar bent or the tapping block or hammer fell apart are subjecting them to forces they’re not designed for. I think some people are simply inexperienced with tools and over estimate their limitations – use tools for what they’re designed for. Anyone busting these tools is clearly not using them properly. So that being said….I wouldn’t buy this for professional use and I’d recommend it ONLY for installing laminates, vinyl and engineered flooring – NOT for 3/4″ hardwood flooring – you’d need a heavier-duty set for that. But for a few DIY laminate/engineered wood floor projects, I think it’s a good buy. This kit will be around for my next engineered flooring job upstairs.Update Jan 2021: I just completed another engineered flooring project upstairs (720 sq ft) using the same kit. It’s still good enough to keep, even though my flooring is all done. See the pictures of the tools AFTER installing over 1300 square feet of engineered hardwood flooring. I seriously don’t know what people are doing to break them. Obviously inexperienced at installing floors.NOTE: I purchased this item on Amazon for full price and have no affiliation to the seller. I try to write helpful, unbiased and insightful reviews because I also read reviews prior to making my own buying decisions. I notice many reviews lack helpful information, are not well written or give poor reviews based on not reading directions, inexperience or failing to read the product details prior to purchasing. Writing valuable reviews helps pay it forward.

I’m a complete novice at installing vinyl planking. I watched some Youtube videos and ordered these tools and did the install. These worked no problem. I purchased some spacers that also rest on top of the plank and those worked better, but this kit worked just fine.

  5. oMEga

Had to figure out how to use the tapping block properly. After some trial and error, managed to work it right though I chipped a few boards as a result. Laminate are hard wood, but surface is easily chipped. Be careful and take ur time. Don’t rush or else you end up having to remove board or worst recut, which eats up even more time.

  6. Robert J. Dalrymple

I couldn’t have completed my floors with out these tools. Worth 10 times what I paid for it. In a word… AWESOME!

  7. Frank Chi

Without this one cannot do certain things while flooring. This tool kit contains three essential things that one need to snap together floor pieces.1. non-marring hammer2. a block for tightly connecting floor pieces together3. a extender bar that allows reaching into a corner to apply hammer blows to the cornerThe quality of the tools are all solid. It is worth noting that the plastic block is solid and not hollow. It can take a lot of blows without disintegrating like hollow plastic blocks. The bottom of the block is also notched to allow the block to apply blows to the proper parts of the floor and not destroy the locking mechanism on the floor that allow the floors to be locked together.

  8. medreeze

My wife and I did our flooring: we removed carpet from each of the bedrooms, and we installed laminate planks. You will need this tool set. We found this specific set as the most affordable of the options, and after using it in three different rooms, I can vouch for their durability. You need this to do the laminate floors, and it worked great.

  9. Cheri’ (Georgia Girl)

Worked great for installing wood floors. Husband said it did its job..

  10. Tone

Don’t try to lay flooring without this tool system. It is exactly what is needed when putting down laminate flooring. Hammer perfect, wedges perfect, angle bar perfect, hitting block perfect. I would recommend this to anyone. It worked great for me.
