10 reviews for RYOBI P884 18-Volt ONE+ Lithium-Ion Combo Kit (6-Tools)

This power tool set is a great starter. The tools themselves are great quality, durable and powerful. Battery life is adequate and larger capacity batteries are able to be purchased. I had used this tool set for a room remodeling and I didnt have any issues with it. For the price there is no better value for quality in my opinion. I’m not a professional carpenter but i do use the tools regularly. The flashlight wasn’t my favorite but it got the job done. I would invest in an the larger batteries and possibly additional chargers depending on your usage. All in all definitely would recommend.

This set of Ryobi power tools is a great starter set for anyone who just needs to do some jobs around the house. We bought a new home about a year ago and this tool set has been a life saver for a ton of the small odd jobs that my wife and I like to do ourselves. If you’re looking for a simple set that can do a lot, then you’ve come to the right place.

Drill – Drill has a plastic 1/2″ chuck. It features a MagTray magnetic surface for holding screws and bits while you are working. It has an LED light to keep the work area lit when you pull the trigger. It is fairly small and powerful. The plastic chuck may be the weak point, but is working great for now.Impact Driver – Driver has a Tri-Beam LED to light surface while you are working. It also features a MagTray magnetic holding surface for holding screws and bits while you are working. It has an auto load chuck for easy bit loading and ejecting. Lots of power for driving screws.Reciprocating Saw – Saw has an anti-vibration handle to reduce fatigue. Pivoting shoe is adjustable to allow more control and to save blades. Works as good as my Milwaukee corded reciprocating saw.Circular Saw – It uses a 5-1/2″ blade. This provides enough to cut a 2″ x 4″ board. Has an ExactLine laser which turns on automatically when you pull the trigger. A better thin-kerf blade helps the tool do a better job cutting.JobPlus base with multi-tool attachment – Features replaceable blades for cutting, sanding and scraping. There are different heads for 90 degree drill, body saw, autohammer, etc. It accepts Ryobi, Ridgid and Dremel heads.Flashlight – Features a swivel head that can be directed where needed. An LED lightbulb would have been a nice improvement to save on the battery life.2 P107 Compact Lithium Batteries – Has 15% more power than Ni-Cd batteries. There is a fuel gauge on the back of each battery letting you know how much power is left at the push of a button.P117 dual chemistry charger – Features IntelliPort Technology, which protect battery cells to maximize battery life and conserves energy.I like using the drill and driver together when working. It is convenient to be able to keep one tool set up to drill holes and the impact set up to drive screws without switching out bits. I did purchase two 4.0amp/hr batteries and use them when working with the saws or driver. The smaller batteries seem to work equally as well. However, the smaller batteries will not last as long. Li-on batteries die suddenly during use unlike Ni-Cd which slows the tool down near the end of the battery life, but there is a fuel gauge so you should be aware of battery life.Final Impression: I have enjoyed the set; it is a great step up from the cordless tools with Ni-Cd batteries that I was using. Just about everything that I needed was included, except a jigsaw. I have added other items to this set including: jig saw, 6 port battery charger, two 4.0 amp/hr batteries, and an 18 volt yard blower. I have used all of the tools extensively except the JobPlus base with multi-tool attachment. It seems to be a nice addition but I have not really tested it except trying it out in the shop. There have been times when it would have been an awesome tool to have. When I put new flooring in my house, it would have been great for cutting the trim. This was my first set of Ryobi tools. While I don’t think they are quite at the same level as Milwaukee and Makita, they are not far behind. They are definitely the best value. For the tool snobs out there, this set is probably not the best choice. This 6 pc set was probably about the same price as one of their drills. I would recommend this set to any homeowner and I have seen several videos of professionals that use them daily on the job and love it. Ryobi has over 50 tools that fit the 18 volt lineup including yard tools so they are not going to leave you out there like some manufacturers do when they put out a new lineup. Each of my four batteries fit all my tools. I love that. Also, if you decide you want the 4.0 amp/hr batteries later, you should wait until they come out in a special offer of 2 for the price of 1. This saved me $99 doing this. There is a 3 year warranty on all items.I have owned this set for a while now and am very happy. I will update later how it is doing.

I am enjoying the cordless tools, they are well made. The battery life is great. The bag that the tools came in is very durable. This is a great battery powered tool set. Thanks Ryobi !

This is about the best deal on the tool marketplace for a kit that use can use around the house to get all sorts of projects done. The drivers have plenty of power and can even be used for mechanical work as long as you bust the bolts loose before using the impact driver. Batteries easily last all day in the drivers but only a few minutes in the circular saw, and a few hours in the reciprocating saw which is plenty strong. I’d recommend getting the updated kit here https://amzn.to/3gcwENC which is the same tool set with bigger batteries. This kit has been my go-to for over 3 years and still going strong after 2 home renovations.

great set. with in hte first 5 min of haveing it i used it an the muti tool is AWESOME, i thought it was a gimmick but its a GREAT tool i love it i wish i had one years ago. the set came well packaged. its a great home owner set

This is a heck of a deal for what you get. I was looking at these at Home Depot and the fact that there are so many tools that use these batteries and I can purchase them separately is awesome. I can get power tools to outdoor equipment that work with these batteries. If you are in the market for a combo kit this certainly fits the bill and has plenty of power to go along with it. Currently using all the tools to remodel my kitchen and I’ve used every too that came with the kit and they all work flawlessly.

  8. Aaron Sipe

The circular saw is small with a 5 1/2″ blade it cuts with ease. I’ve used all the tools in the set and am very happy with the quality as well as the battery life. Ryobi is a great brand the compares to Bosch, Makita, Craftsman, Porter Cable, etc, not only in quality but also in price. I’ve only used these tools in projects around the house, but I would strongly recommend to anyone who is looking for an good quality and affordable tool for projects around the house.

  9. Miles Raymond

Even if you have the ancient red/blue Ryobi tools before they rebranded with their current neon green, the batteries now will work with their old tools, and the old batteries work with all their new tools.I can’t tell you how many tools I have used and gave away because they all had their batteries die, but no replacements could be found at any reasonable price. Ryobi keeps making batteries in the same format from their original tools, even new ones with expanded capacity, so it’s great to buy into a tool system where they never change their battery system!

  10. Christine Boatwright

Purchased for my son. He uses this set on a construction site and says it is a perfect starter kit. It. An easily be added on to. This kit gave him the ability to go to work on the first day of a new job with confidence after having his last tool set having been stolen. He says he is very satisfied.
