Had a small problem with the fence not locking correctly. Called customer service and they helped me get it right. I’m a woodcarver and I use the bandsaw for cutting out the blanks. With a 1/2 h.p. motor it’s powerful enough for my needs and the fence is surprising very accurate. It does not come with a miter gauge, but luckily I had one from my previous Grizzly that fits very snugly in the miter slot. Would not hesitate to buy one again!

I have had the product about three weeks. It was fairly easy to assemble. I’ve used it 4-5 times since I got it assembled. I have done some curvy cuts and resawing some wide boards. It was amazing on the resaw work with the 1/2′ blade that I also purchased – maple and walnut in 1/8″ and 3/16′ thick and over 2′ wide. The 1/2 hp motor never even missed a beat. I have loved it so far.

I don’t need a band saw for large projects, have a crowded shop or re saw a bunch of wood. Looked at the larger Rikon saws and just could not justify the purchase based on my limited use. This saw arrived with no damage (box was trashed – don’t know why any company uses UPS) and had the saw set up in half an hour. Adjustments are quick with all the required tools for assembly and adjustment included.Tool storage is a nice touch as is the blade tension lever for a saw in this price range. The table is accurate and flat, blade runs true and is very quiet in operation. Found the included blade to be pretty good, I did buy an assortment of Timberwolf blades to have on hand when needed. I wish the miter gauge was included, bought the miter gauge separately adding a bit more capability to a very capable saw.I am very happy to have this saw in my shop and look forward to years of use, I am sure that I will run into a situation that I wish I had a larger bandsaw but based on my limited shop space I think I made the perfect decision to go with this saw.

This is a great small/medium sized bandsaw. I am a professional woodworker, and use this saw just about every day. This saw is rock solid, and when you turn it on, it is dead quiet. The only complaints I have about this saw is that with such a small wheel and a thin blade (or any blade other than the one that it comes with), it is difficult to get it to track correctly. However, once you get it on there, it’s like butter. Also, the dust collection is such that even with a dust collector attached, the saw blows sawdust down from the guide column and onto your workpiece making it difficult to see a pattern line. I have two bandsaws in my shop, a larger bandsaw, and this one, and I figured that when I purchased the larger one it would take the place of this one, however I was wrong. This saw can truly hold its own, even when compared to much larger saws. I still pull it out all the time when I need clean, precise cuts, with no hassle. Great product.

PROS: The bandsaw was easy to set up. The [upper/lower] blade guides are decent and easily adjusted. They do move a bit as you raise and lower the blade guard. The squareness check worked great (Using a fence, you saw into a 3/4″ piece of wood approx. 1″ length and stop, shut off the saw, back it out, flip it over, and slide it into the backside of the blade.) Mine was dead on . . . I haven’t changed a blade but it looks easy if you’ve used a bandsaw before.CONS: The mitre gage slot is 5/8″ wide not the standard 3/4″ which means any mitre gages or feather-boards you own won’t fit. You will have to buy a Rikon Mitre Gage. Grrrrr!Still, I am pleased with my purchase.

This bandsaw is very nicely made. The cast iron table is flat and the fence works well. It is great for smaller work and or a small shop. With a good blade I have had no issue resawing 5 inch oak. With a blade for metal cutting it goes through 1/8th mild steel, and much thickerer softer metals like aluminium and brass. Thicker steel needs much slower blade speeds so not recommended for anything thicker than 1/8th inch and not for alloy or tool steels either.Assembly is easy and instructions are well written.I have mine mounted on a shop build table/stand so I can move it to accommodate longer or larger pieces as needed.Very happy with this tool.

Love this bandsaw. I use it in my guitar building shop all the time. The 1/2 hp motor has plenty of power for cutting. I use this saw for resizing lumber to make parts. I do not use this saw for resawing lumber into thinner pieces. I have a 5hp bandsaw for that. The first thing you need to do is throw out the blade that comes with the saw. Get a good Timberwolf or Olson blade.Second, after you have put the saw together, watch the YouTube video: Setting Up Your Band Saw with Alex Snodgrass. He has the best approach and explanation on how to get the most out of your saw. The set up can take 30 minutes to an hour but it’s worth it!I connect the exhaust port directly to my Dust Deputy separator and Fein Vacuum with a short hose.Getting a good blade and a good set up will make this tool a must for your shop.

My first one was a dud, ran once, then quit. I stuck with it – had it replaced with another of the same, and am very glad I did. Its replacement has been running and cutting like a champ for several months now. Using a carbide-toothed blade with it, and the cuts are, straight, true, almost finish smooth. I use it primarily to make custom beehive components. Most of my cuts are to resaw/trim off both sides of 2×4 stock leaving them 7/8″ thick vs 1-1/2″ original thickness – these are the blanks I use for my custom frame top-bars. I use a similar resaw technique to trim 2×4 down by 1/8″ on each flat side to make 1-1/4″ wide blanks for frame end-bars. Bottom bars are whatever scraps are 3/4″ wide by 1/2″ or thicker and the proper length. I am also thinking of using a round-over router bit to ease the long edges of the top-bars.
