I like it, minimalist appearance. I ordered this to replace my bulky Harbor Breeze 52″ 5 blade 4 light fan. We have low vaulted ceilings, 7′ at the eave and 8-1/2′ at the peak and anyone over 6’3″ would hit their head on the lights. This Portage Bay fan resolved this issue providing an extra 4″ of clearance. The motor body is about 2/3 the diameter, and the motor with light is about 2/3 length of traditional ceiling fans, so it doesn’t become a huge focal point in a smaller room, I have it in my 13’x 20′ living room. The directions are in clear english, and illustrated for each step. Total time it took me to remove my existing fan, then assemble and install this fan was 1hour 15 minutes. It came with a LED E26 base 800 lumen 3000k dimmable bulb, (it looks similar to a standard light incandescent bulb), but you can use any standard E26 base bulb upto 60 watt max.I used a brighter bulb I already had. The hardware and pull chains are the same color as the motor housing. The pulls are stained and finished wood, close in appearance to the color on the darker side of the blades.I used the lighter colored blade side. The motor is quiet it has a slight humming sound, in fact on high I can only hear the air movement of the blades and not the motor. The overall appearance is nice, although it takes a little getting used to when compared to having 5 blade fans for decades. I provided a few photos at different angles and lightning hoping to give you an idea of it’s color. So far I’m happy with it, seems to move air as well as my more expensive fans. Time will tell how well it performs.I will report back if something comes up.Thank you!

I’ve been building a solar-powered off-grid cabin. I’m at the stage where I can start putting in some lighting and fans to keep me cool and provide additional lighting while working on the ceilings and walls. I ordered this Portage Bay 51450 Chism 52 inch Bronze Ceiling Fan for my grand room.My ceiling is 18 ft. high so I had to make an 8 ft. down rod out of 3/4 inch schedule 40 black pipe (for propane and gas). Thus, the rod shown in my photos is not provided with the fan. This fan comes well packaged, it is well built, very quiet, well balanced, and looks exactly as shown on Amazon. The instructions are well written and easy to follow. I didn’t need to use any of the balancing weights provided with it. It does require some assembly. It took me approximately 45 minutes to hang it and complete assembly The only tool required is a Phillips tip screwdriver (and a wire cutter and stripper if you need to adjust the wiring length). Just a tip – I found that if you put on the fan blades after you do the wiring, it is easier to work with.Of importance to me because my cabin runs from batteries at night is this fan uses very minimal power – only 39 Watts – but it moves a lot of air. Since I’ll be putting up tongue and groove wood on the walls, this fan is going to look amazing when I’m finished. Its minimalistic and rustic design will be a perfect accent to the grand room.Overall, I’m very pleased with this fan. For the price, it delivers great value and appearance.

Love them! We purchased three for our back porch and they look great and work great too!

Honestly don’t really use the remote as fan and light are on there own switches. Finally had an empty to room to make a little place for me that hasn’t been ruined from being old or just plain ugly cause previous people had no taste anyway not a lot of spare cash so with a little paint elbow grease and small details like this help give a finished look while being functional and cost effective
