QuietWalk Flooring Underlayment – Moisture Protection, Sound Absorption & Clean Air Quality for Family Members

Moisture Protection

– Water vapor is present in concrete.

– If vapors are blocked or trapped, vapors become harmful water.

– Concrete needs to breathe, never allow vapors to become bulk moisture.

– The attached vapor barrier protects the overlying flooring from harmful moisture.

– Treated fibers to inhibit mold and mildew.

Protection From Leaks

– Spills, leaky plumbing, faulty ice-makers can cause floor damage. QuietWalk’s fibers can absorb up to 5 times it’s own weight, drawing harmful moisture in while protecting the overlying floor.

– Lays Down Flat on Floors – No waviness or ripples.

– Easy To Cut With Utility Knife.

– Evenly Cut – Our rolls are consistently manufactured meaning you won’t find taped scrap pieces in your underlayment.

– Superior Sound Reduction – Your flooring will not sound like Rice Krispies popping under foot. If your in a condo/multi-family, your neighbor above/below won’t think you have an obsession for Rice Krispies.

– No petrochemical smell – Your family will not be smelling a tire shop in your living space.

– Hard to Tear – Our moisture barrier film is durable matched with our dense fiber.

– Not too thin or thick – You won’t have to worry about thinness. No holes will be created by accidentally dropping your installation tools during installation.

– Ease of Installation – You won’t have trouble unrolling the underlayment. Just kick it across the room like Conor McGregor would! Won’t roll out backwards either making it easier to lay out.

10 reviews for MP Global Products QuietWalk Laminate Flooring Underlayment with Attached Vapor Barrier Offering Superior Sound Reduction Compression Resistant and, Moisture Protection Covers 360 Sq. Ft, Blue

  1. Tom L. Carter

Just the type I was looking for, felt not foam! Quiet😊Cut easily with scissors. Only draw back was the width of the roll. 6 feet wide. Harder to maneuver into location and cut to size. Previous was 3 feet wide. Much easier to work with.

  2. R L B

Product feels nice under the floor where it was properly leveled and installed with the proper gap at the walls. The flooring had pading also so this seemed like a good thin dense pad.

  3. 6BlackCats

After comparing with cork products that were required by our HOA before laying vinyl plank, we finally selected this product. It installs easily, is a good thickness. But like any underlayment, it feels soft underfoot and “gives” slightly when walking on it. We installed this over a concrete slab and our flooring is 5mm thick. Early on the flooring joints would “snap” while walking across the floor but after three weeks that is slowly going away. Also, occasionally we hear the vapor barrier “krinckle” when walking on the floor. Best news, the homeowners below us are happy with the noise abatement!

  4. Brian

I’m not a professional floor installer and have only used underlayment while doing remodels in my own homes. However, I have used foam underlayment in the past as a means to save a little money and still lessen the noise issues commonly associated with hardwood or laminate flooring. My wife and I bought our last house and I wanted to use the best underlayment I could find, as this would be the last time I intended on ever doing this type of remodel work. I did some research and decided on this stuff…and I’m not disappointed. Wow, this stuff is everything it says it would be. The difference in the ability of this stuff to dampen the sound while walking across the floor is incomparable. I’m so glad I decided on this and the price difference is not incredible. Installation was very simple, which made up for any cost difference between this and foam underlayment. I won’t use anything else if I ever decide to install more flooring in my home.

  5. Les

Did a lot of research on underlayment. Chose this one because I believe it to be the best product on the market. We installed over 1,500 sq. ft. under aqua guard laminate flooring. Product was easy to work with. Price was more than competitive – beat the prices at the big box stores on inferior underlayment.

  6. Rachael Bush

Calling this ‘quiet walk’ is truth in naming! I bought two huge rolls when we redid the floors in our house. My house is old and has original oak hardwood. The hardwood is ruined in many spots, so we decided to lay laminate over it. Let me tell you, original hardwood floors that haven’t been cared for are squeaky as all get out. Between the quiet walk and the laminate, I can’t hear a sound! I also love that the gray backing stuff is made from recycled fibers. It’s really wonderful. Sometimes the fibers are a bit chunky in places, but overall it’s great. Have a vacuum handy when you make cuts. It can get a little dusty cutting through the fibers. I would totally buy this again!

  7. Michael Cavallaro

Just installed engineered hardwood floors and used this as the underlayment. Absorbs a bunch of sound and makes the floor super soft. I installed over concrete and it makes the flooring feel like it’s on a wood subfloor.

  8. David Troutman

I like that this underpayment does not tear during installation of flooring like many other types of underlayment offen does. Offers good sound transfer reduction.

  9. Coniferbrat

Bought this underlayment as I noticed it while watching a YouTube instructional video. Checked reviews and price points verses the big box stores and yes it was equal or better.I was able to compare this under bamboo against a polymer under Pergo and can definitely tell a difference. Quieter and more comfortable to my bare feet. Strictly my own opinion. Take it for what it is worth. I think you will be happy.I might add, I did NOT notice any smell when we rolled it out as some have said. And we did use duct tape to stick the lengths together. the adhesive strips were just to narrow to do any good.

  10. Triple C

Used as underlayment for Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring over wood subfloor. Worked great, easy to apply just need very sharp utility knife. Cushions when walking on floor. Quieted creaks in subfloor. Does provide some insulation. Floors are not as cold. Price seemed high for what it is but cheaper on Amazon than local stores.
