The fan works great and the customer service provided by Lighting & Locks was superb.

These Fams Are Torally Amazing Cools My Place Down Right Away!! Super Quiet And Efficient. I highly reccomend these fans to everyone.

  3. agora1031

We have two of these: one in our master bedroom and another in our den. We love them for the simple and modern design and function. Three speed fan and bright overhead light. My only wish would be for the light to give off a warmer glow (vs florescent feel of this one) but we only use it when we need to find legos, toddler toys and such on the ground so it serves it’s purpose. I tried to install the second one myself, but fell short at the wiring phase. May be easily doable for some, but was not for me and ended up having to call the electrician. 🙂

We needed a new ceiling fan and figured why not get it from Amazon as we order everything else from here. The ceiling fan blends in perfectly to our white ceiling. When it’s on you barely notice it above.Air Flow: We have a tall sloped ceiling and you can really feel the fan when underneath.Noise: the fan is quiet. Nonetheless, it does produce a shushing whipping sound on high due to the air moving!Easy installation and love the remote.

Great fan. Stylish and affordable. A tip for those with high ceilings / vaulted ceilings:Per some of the other reviews, yes it would be great if this fan had a button on its remote for changing the direction of rotation between counterclockwise and clockwise with the seasons, especially for vaulted ceilings. A potential solution:The directional switch is a slider switch, approximately half way up the fan’s conical top. Turn off the fan and use an appropriately sized/extendable dusting rod (or similar) that has a notch on the handle for hanging purposes. Flip the rod around so the handle is reaching towards the fan try to catch the gap/notch on the handle over the slider switch. This is easier from a higher vantage point/ladder (we did it from our loft, parallel to the switch sliding direction).

I installed two of these fans in an outdoor covered patio that has three large skylights. They are PERFECT for circulating air in a space that can get quite warm due to the heat captured. I had my contractor install and he had no issues.

  7. Decosphere

In the past 15 months I have bought 6 of these for our new house. I just finished installing the 6th one. It took about 40 minutes. The original attraction of this fan was the flat white color with the short hang bar, and minimalistic look. They “hug” (relatively speaking) the ceiling, and because our ceilings are flat white they blend in nicely. There are 3 blades but they work great. There are 3 speeds. On low speed they are practically impossible to hear but create a nice low breeze. On the other two speeds it is more the noise of the air being pushed around than the fan itself. 90% of the time the fan is on the first speed setting. Sometimes when coming in from a hot day I might put a fan on speed two or three for a while before turning it down. The remote control is great for a couple of reasons. First, it can go to any of the speeds I want immediately. There is no cycling through. Second, if I cut power at the wall switch, then when I turn the wall switch back on the fan will resume whatever setting it was last at – off, speed one, speed two, or speed three. This way when I leave the TV room I can turn off the wall switch and it stops. When I return to the room I simply turn on the switch. And yes, the fan is quiet enough that I don’t have to turn the volume up to hear the TV.The booklet says on speed one the fan is using only 15 watts. This allows us to keep the fan running continuously in the pet area. Overall by using the fans we were able to reduce our electric bill about 35% by setting the thermostats at 75 and running the fans in the rooms we are in instead. It is quite comfortable, even when sleeping.I’m no electrician. The instructions are well developed and easy to follow. There are pictures to follow, with explanations. There are little labels on the wires that say what they are to connect to. The only tools I needed were a wire stripper for the wires coming out of the ceiling, and a screw driver. I also used a cheap volt meter to make sure there is power when the wall switch is turned on, and no power when the wall switch is turned off. What I learned. A) Wire nuts that get twisted over the wire ends are used to connect the fan to the remote control receiver in the fan to the house power. After connecting the wires, when tucking them away in the hood of the unit, I have had 2 wires that popped out of their nuts. It is important to tug on the wires after putting the nut on to make sure they are tight, because otherwise you will need to remove the covers, redo the wires, and put the covers back on (about 5 minutes). B) Ironically, on the first fan I bought something was wrong with the remote control receiver. I called Minka customer service. They walked me through a diagnostic process, determined I needed a new remote control receiver, and sent me one next day air. I installed it and it worked perfectly. They asked me to send the bad receiver back to figure out what went wrong. Needless to say, I was overall impressed as shown by me purchasing 5 more after that. I have not a problem since. My next project is outdoor fans. We plan to stick with Minka except will go with a different style and color.

  8. Ruby

    Very clean lines very efficient!

  9. Peg

We wanted a quiet fan with clean lines, without a light, and with a remote. We’ve had it a couple of months and often run it all night. It is quiet, just a little sound of air moving at medium or high speed. The remote comes with a holder that you can mount, for instance, near the bed. Installation was as usual for ceiling fans, with one nice difference: you can put the blades on after it’s hanging, so that it’s not so unwieldy.

  10. alex

Blown away by this fan. Sleek, flushed to ceiling and looks expensive. Very quiet. Great product
