Are you a shop teacher with no style? Does your daily routine involve machinery randomly launching objects at your face? Are you just accident prone and are banned from being around sharp objects by your significant other/peers? Then you need the Kleengaurd 49311 Safety Glasses!Being a woodworking/Halloween prop building hobbyist, I’ve used, scratched, broken, and mostly lost various pairs of safety glasses over the years – I generally go with the cheap ones found at hardware stores, but I figured I’d try something bigger and better this go-around. These are definitely the best I’ve used so far – Mind you they aren’t like Oakley ballistic-rated shooting glasses by any means, but I’ve had some sun glasses that were far worse in quality. On close inspection, yeah – they’re built like good quality safety glasses, but the styling is different than the cheap hardware store variety. I like the Ray-Ban “Wayfarer” look of these glasses, and with the bigger size of the lenses, these will protect around my eye a lot better than the others. The side-shield thing being translucent also helps maintain the appearance that you’re just wearing a pair of shades. Had they not made this part clear, they’d probably look like a more hip version of those old-people sunglasses that they put over the top of their prescription glasses.A few other features that caught my eye were the rubbery nose piece and arm pieces (or whatever they’re called), the flexibility of the arms and the quality of the tint/clarity of the lenses. The frames fit my face just fine, but people with wider faces may not be able to wear them comfortably – I’d say they’re a bit average on width but for me, this makes them hug my face better so they block all the little wood bits that come flinging off my saw blade.Bare in mind though, these, like most safety glasses, aren’t completely sealed off around your face like safety goggles are – there are some gaps at the back of the “shield” thing on the arms of the glasses but this allows some air flow and hopefully helps with fogging issues. I haven’t used these in the heat much, so I’m not sure about them fogging up – can’t be any worse than what I have been using up to this point though. Oh, and they also have a bit of a form-fit “flange” or guard at the top of the lens-frame that’s contoured to your face to help keep stuff from dropping down back behind the lenses. The price is good for the quality too. Just doing a quick search of the orange box-store’s website for safety glasses, similar pairs can run you anywhere from $10 to $25 each depending on the features or brand. Why get a pack of 12? Well with that many, even if I lose/destroy a few I can’t say I’ll go through all 12 of them anytime soon. My kids always asking to wear a pair when I’m out working in the garage anyway, so now there’s plenty to go around.I may feel differently after using these during some of my more lengthy projects, but based on how I’ve used them thus far, I’m definitely a fan – both of the styling and the quality.

I’ve been buying safety glasses for many years. Having owned a vintage car restoration shop and running two car dealer repair shops, we always kept a dispenser of inexpensive eye protection available for customers if we allowed them in the shop. We also keep some around for employees for when theirs break or get forgotten at home. These are a nice alternative to keeping one dispenser of cheap ones and one dispenser of expensive ones… these are right in the middle. The quality is good enough for professional use (check out the certs) yet when purchased in bulk they are inexpensive compared to most on the market with the same level of protection.Style-wise, they are either love or hate. I, personally, really like the style. I’ve paid a lot for sunglasses in the same style. The fit is good from my 13 year old son to my normal adult sized head. If you’re unusually large, you may want to consider another style- but with a gentle application of the heat gun you can re-shape the frames a bit.No optical distortion on the pair I tried, the rest are in the original box which is also a wall-mountable or freestanding dispenser. Whether you use these at your job site as a professional or if you just want the added safety when doing work around the house, these are a great value. I’ve paid much much more for others which weren’t any better, so these are very much worth consideration.*I’ve seen many people get eye injuries just doing yard, car and home improvement work… eye protection is important!

These Kleenguard Maverick Safety Glasses are the nicest looking safety glasses we’ve ever had the pleasure of owning. You receive 12 pairs in this set.I love that they provide UV protection, and are fog-proof. This makes them ideal for yardwork, using them while mowing the lawn, and a variety of other outdoor activities where having some safety glasses would be prudent to use.We have been remodeling our home recently, so these really have been put to good use for our family. I like that they just look like regular sunglasses, for the most part, so even when running errands or stopping to chat with a neighbor, you don’t look really weird. 🙂 Since there are 12 in this set, we don’t have to worry about running out of them if one gets misplaced or broken.Overall, these are great quality safety glasses that look nice and are versatile enough to provide ample protection in the sun for your eyes, as well as protection during operation of machinery. Two thumbs up!

  5. Katawampas

These are comfortable to wear & actually look good. The lenses are good quality – you can actually see well thru these. So many safety glasses impair vision but these do not. They fit both me & my husband well although they fit him best. I wore these mowing & trimming the lawn today & they worked out great. I forgot I was wearing safety glasses – a good sign. They are well made but they probably won’t survive someone sitting on them.

Son excelente y maravilloso, son cómodos y con un estilo moderno en seguridad. Tanto que mi asesor de seguridad siente envidia por mis lentes.

These are light and comfortable. They also look nice. I buy safety glasses periodically, and sometimes I find the new ones have a less than clear lens. Even with the UV protection, these are easy to see out of (just not in poorly lit places, obviously).I was skeptical about the anti-fog claim, so tried to fog these up by various means. The anti-fog claim is true! I did not submit them to a scratch test, but since the anti-fog claim is true then I am sure the anti-scratch claim is also true. Ditto for the impact resistance. They don’t slip or fall off, as some glasses do. I put them on, and they stayed on. They stayed on even while I was moving my head in many directions, including looking straight down while wearing them. I did about an hour of yardwork with them on, including shrub and tree pruning. I wore them while installing a fiberglass border, and they still did not fall off. Nor did they occlude my vision at any time. In fact, I was able to see better in the bright sunlight with these on than without them. And they didn’t fog up despite my perspiration in that heat.Considering how good these are, they offer a solid value for the price. They are excellent for construction or maintenance crews working outdoors and also for homeowners who do yard work with power equipment such as blowers, mowers, and trimmers.
