As a professional remodeling contractor I can’t believe it took me so long to stumble upon these quality clamps. After trying/owning several different makes of this style clamp (DeWalt, Irwin, Quick-Clamp, Wolfcraft) the phrase “you get what you pay for” springs to mind. Sure these are a little pricey but the quality and ease of use is head and shoulders above the rest, and it’s important to have tools that be relied upon without complication or complaint when in the thick of a frustrating remodel. Just wish I hadn’t bought the 2 pack when this morning I realized a 4 pack is only $1.50 more, which sucks but no fault of the tool. The 3/4″ shaft fits perfectly in benches with 3/4″ bench dog holes. Squeeze handles and release lever are the most ergonomic I’ve found. Reversible end removes and and reinstalls with ease and confidence. 300 pound clamping pressure from a squeeze clamp is best in class, and it’s obvious this tool is built to handle it. Lock together feature on the clamps I received needed a little spray lube and some dead blow “persuasion” to put together and take apart but I don’t anticipate using that function a lot even though it does appear to work well and is very innovative. This is NOT a light duty 6″ clamp, in fact the only caution I’d relay to prospective buyers is these heavy duty clamps are bulky and may just be too large or overkill for more delicate applications. Expect a tool that can take some serious job site abuse and keep on smiling. As others have said, I highly recommend.

I only use these for simple woodworking projects and I’m no expert but they are sturdy, solid, and stay fixed much better than other clamps I have used. They are heavier than I anticipated but they are easy to use and worth the slight price premium. Overall they are great clamps.

I am not a handy person at all, but needed to glue my floor length wooden mirror (the wood cracked.) These worked perfectly it was strong enough to hold the wood together, it didn’t slip and the glue did not stick to it. You can’t even tell it was glued. They are so sturdy and substantial that I think these will last a lifetime (well the rest of my life) Good to have these on hand for odd jobs like that.

The detachable jaw can be easily and quickly removed. I use the clamps as holdfasts on my workbench. I have a 1-1/8” thick bench top on the workbench I bought. Conventional holdfasts were enlarging the bench dog holes, so I decided to try these clamps. They do exactly what I hoped for without distorting the dog holes. The 3/4” bar width just fits in the bench’s dog holes. I have not used them as a parts spreader, but the build quality gives me confidence that they will perform that function very well.

A woodworker can never have enough clamps. And I love all of my clamps. But it was that time when I realized I need more of a specific length and strenght. So I decided to give these a try and see if they are a good fit for my needs. And they are! Could be a little cheaper, but I can’t complain: the quality is there. They work great, plenty of clamping force, easy to clamp and unclamp/release them. Could have been a little deeper but they can still do their job cery well for me. All in all, a good choice I’d say. Only time will tell how long they are going to last. Although they seem pretty sturdy and so far I’ve seen o signs of failure. We’ll live to tell!

the ability to daisy chain these clamps (same model only) is wonderful and allows you to extend the clamping ability beyond the 6″ of a single clamp. the ratcheting tightening trigger is very effective and grips amazingly well with great clamping force. so pleased I bought another pair in a longer length for the shop.

  7. Martin G. Ahrens

These are MUCH stronger than the similar quick clamps you usually see. I like the cheap ones, but eventually break the squeeze handle. I use them more often for holding things down on the edge of my bench than I do gluing, but they’re fast, strong, and convenient for either use.

  8. CCO1056

I have clamps of every description (F clamps, C clamps, bar clamps, etc.), and they all serve a variety of purposes in my shop; and “yes,” I have a lot of ’em. That said, these are my go-to clamps for a variety of wood clamping projects. I bought a set of two initially, and I’ve bought more since in the same size and in different lengths. They are strong, well made, very easy to use with one hand (when your other hand is fiddling with something else), and they have more than adequate clamping pressure for just about any wood clamping project. I’m a big fan of ’em.

  9. SuzeeSumatra

I have not been working with wood long enough to be familiar with the entirety of what is available in quick clamps, so I am not sure if there are other brands which can do this.I got these Jorgensen/Pony One Hand/Quick release clamps after watching a you tube where a woodworker from the UK flipped these 2 clamps tip to tip and via a groove mechanism, joined the 2 clamps together to make a longer clamp!

2021-11-13 update – I’ve used the clamps extensively, and I love them – I purchased a total of 18 of the Jorgensen 6″ clamps.Note that I have inspected and tested but not used the Jorgensen clamps to date – I’ve used Irwin clamps for 20+ years and decided to take a look at the Jorgensen 6″ Medium Duty Clamps – The Jorgensen clamps open to 6-7/8″ compared to 6-3/8″ for the Irwin 6″ Medium Duty Clamps – The Jorgensen clamping pads are bigger than the Irwin pads – Finally, the Jorgensen clamps are a little easier to use – Jorgensen clamps are now my clamps
