I was going to go the Harbor Freight route for another air tool, but after my HF metal shear gave it up after a month I elected to go with a name brand for the die grinder. Been happy with it so far, a few months of use on an old car restoration.

A year or so ago, I purchased two Harborfreight die grinders. Only thing they were good for is the scrap metal pile, no power whatsoever. This Ingorsal Rand die grinder has much more power. You can stall it, but it takes a deliberate effort. I used it to cut a cast iron manifold off my GMC Sierra. Easily, no, but it did do the job.

Got this for use around the house. Cuts through steel with a diamond cutting wheel just fine. I really suggest a 60 gallon air tank or greater for a tool like this, otherwise you’ll be waiting on the compressor to catch up often. These kinds of tools just go through a TON of air.

I’ve had this item for a year in July. I was told to buy the Kobalt ones from Lowe’s from my coworkers so I did. They sold me on “life time warranty” I had one 4 months when it failed on me. I said no big deal I have a life time warranty. Took it to Lowe’s and they gave me a hard time about the warranty after a few tries I got a replacement. That one failed 2 months later.i returned it got my money back and opted for a better brand so I chose Ingersoll Rand. I gotta say this thing has a huge amount of power compared to that kobalt. I’ve accidently dropped it from tables and from my welding machine (about 4′ high) and still it remains strong. Sometimes I have to remove welds it tight spots where a grinder doesn’t fit. With the right bit this thing just chews through the metal. I’ve been very satisfied with this tool. Definitely buying another one

Bought Milwaukee 90, and it sucked. Collet wouldn’t fit 1/4 in like it was supposed to. Went back to pneumatic. Love this little 90!!! Great for brakes, and grinding in small places. Use as a pro auto tech.

So I read some of the negative reviews on this product. Don’t believe it. If there was a problem, it had to be one offs. Life is not perfect. I used this die grinder to sculpt my 02 silverado wheel well repair work. I used it to get to small places to grind down to metal while removing rust. I used it to sculpt the Bondo Glass fiber glass filler down by 1/4″ or less to prepare it for the standard bondo filler to get it ready for painting. This grinder performed better than I expected. In fact, I just added it to my list of valued tools. I suspect most who purchase this tool will be using it on auto body work. So if you are looking for a great die grinder for your auto body repair project and don’t want to break the bank but want quality and performance, this tool is for you. Good luck with your project!

So Far, So Good. Hopefully this one will last as long as my old Devilbiss did. The Die Grinder I had between these two was a cheap-0, and it didn’t last a year. One thing I found annoying is the trigger safety flipper, but that has been the same with all the Die Grinder triggers I’ve used. If I could lighten up on my grip, the trigger function works great, but I don’t want to concentrate on that when I’m trying to get the job done. My remedy was to remove that safety thing from the trigger. The one feature that stood out when I first hooked it up, is that it is fairly quiet to operate, but I still recommend using earplugs when working with it.

Ingersoll Rand has never let me down . This Angle Die Grinder works flawlessly . I have used it almost every day without any issues . I recommend this brand to anyone who will needs this tool day in and day out . I have always used this brand from the get go . Prior to this one , I purchased one from a different brand ( which was not cheap ) as I needed one for a job and I was too far from my place . Let me just say that the internals did not last a full day even after making sure it was lubed properly . I have used and abused my Ingersoll Rand grinder and it has yet to have any problems . IF YOU NEED ANY TYPE OF GRINDER ….GET THIS BRAND!!

Its a solid torque grinder. It works well and is solid built. Quality materials to last in the shop against drops and oils or whatever you get on your hands. At 90psi it rips. The trigger is nice for easy control of it.

I purchased this item as a birthday present for my son from his Amazon wish list. He’s started on his first car restoration and will certainly find lots of opportunities to use this grinder. It is exactly what he needs. It was in stock and arrived on time as promised.
