I wore this helmet for a couple hours today and have the following to report:• Assembly was easy, though poorly documented so uncertainty reigned. Tip: just slam stuff together, it’s dead easy.• During assembly, the mesh visor was difficult to seat. I used a retracted utility knife as a way to apply a lot of force to snap the visor in place. The little retaining studs the visor popped behind did not break off. I was amazed.• The helmet is better than wearing safety glasses because the wire mesh does not fog up so you maintain excellent visibility. Some say you should wear safety glasses too. I think I’m safer when I can see and nothing drifted into my eyes through two hours of use.• The ear muffs work great. They have a metal strip in them that holds them up or against your head. You just push the muffs down and they grab your head. They are great.• The head strap is easy to adjust and the sweat band is appreciated.UPDATE:I’ve worn this helmet through 5 gallons of gas worth of chainsawing. It’s great. I also wear it when string trimming. The ear muffs are fantastic. It is wear-all-day comfortable. The metal mesh front is fantastic. When you’re bushwhacking up to a tree that is surrounded by bushes and stickers, this is a great thing to wear to keep things from poking you in your face and eyes. The only thing that has made it through the mesh is dust from rotten trees.

This is what I’d consider the minimum quality to be useful. It works as intended and I really like the snap up ear muffs. I’m giving it 5 stars for value. A pro grade helmet is about 4x more expensive. I’m using this helmet around 10 days per month and it’s holding up well. Don’t buy this if you climb, but for ground work it’s adequate.

I use these for when running chainsaws, log splitters, and chippers. They work great, protect your head and face well. I have already had debris and limbs from trees hit me. Without the helmet and face shield, who knows what would have happened. I liked the helmet so much, I bought a second one for my wife for when we are running the chipper and she likes hers too.

  4. Jerry Grant

I just purchased a second helmet for my son. It is very comfortable. I’ve been cutting down a lot of Ash and Buckthorn on our 7 acre property. A pair of safety glasses and the screen has saved my eyes and face on numerous occasions. The ear protection is great while using my chainsaw. A fantastic purchase. Don’t forget your chaps. Husqvarna makes great pair. They will save your legs.

Needed to replace a old Stihl helmet that I couldn’t get part’s for. The Husqvarna helmet is of higher quality then the Stihl helmet, particularly the head band which is much stronger and designed to operate smoother. The helmet is relatively light and easy to wear for long periods of time. The sunvisor can be a bear to install if you don’t have a heat gun or can’t set the pieces in the sun to warm up and make more pliable.

  6. Faith

Bought to use with a chainsaw but now I use with the weed whip and lead blower. I can never do power equipment yard work without this again. No more worries about a rock or wood chips to the face. I would still wear safety glasses as this is not a replacement for that. The ear muffs work well to stop sound and I wear prescription glasses AND safety glasses with them. Helmet does not get to hot.

  7. ED P.

Comfortable hardhat. Sound protection is excellent, earmuffs are adjustable and can be placed over the ear for total sound blockage or so you can have some sound penetration. Face screen is just that, a screen. The advantage of a screen over a clear plastic shield is that the screen doesn’t scratch. A+ on this product.

I have a Stihl trimmer. I needed to cut down heavy weeds/brush and needed face protection. I considered the Stihl brush shield protector (face shield and hearing protectors) but read the reviews. Plus I have Stihl hearing protectors and they don’t fit right….and keep coming loose. I read the reviews for the Husqvarna Forest Head Protection and Helmet and took the plunge. I didn’t really need the helmet part, but figured that it might fit better. And it does. One I adjusted it for my size, everything stays in place even when start sweating. Even better, one of the ear muffs lifts up so you can hear out of one ear when you are not using machinery…so you don’t have to take it off when you significant other is yelling out you. Oh, and that is something to keep in mind. This is a big orange helmet and it’s goofy looking. It does not look cool and your significant other might give you a hard time about it. But at my age I don’t care. This is a functional helmet at a fair price.

Protects my face which is why I bought it and is very good quality. I didn’t install the ear muffs yet due to heat. If I could change 2 things to make it perfect; add a detachable cape or curtain to keep sun off my neck and 2, make it vented out the top. Neither are deal killers though. My only complaint is the screen can sometimes be/get pulled down past the helmet visor. Not a deal killer either. Priced right and delivered to my door can’t be beat.

  10. Joed

Helmet has built in adjustable ear covers and face screen. Each has it’s own adjustment including the helmet itself. I had one for 15 years until one of the ear covers recently broke off. It is fixable but I thought it was time for a new helmet. I will fix it and give it to my grandson. Good quality and the face screen offers good protection from wood chips. Sound muffling is adequate to protect ears. Highly recommended.
