Contrary to the manufacturer’s enclosed written documentation, this is a tri-mountable fan. If you pop out the canopy’s inner trim ring, you will expose the 5 holes necessary to attach the fan’s motor. A simple “S” hook will suspend the unit from the hanger while you take your time with the electrical connectors. Lack of documentation, especially since they’ve changed the remote control is why I dinged them in the review. You pair the remote by pressing the button in the battery compartment, not by pressing the high and low fan buttons simultaneously.

My son installed this fan for me in my bedroom. Installation was not too difficult, the trickiest part was getting the remote control sensor to fit into the space. That was no fault of the fan design, it was the size of the electric box in my ceiling, which was shallower than the standard size. Except for that, it went up pretty easily, took about an hour all together to get it installed. It’s been up for a few weeks now and stays on pretty much all the time. Very quiet and love the way it looks!. Very happy with the purchase.

This fan is beautiful. My husband had no issues putting it together and it doesn’t wobble or make any sound. I love the light fixture on this fan. The remote is not like what’s pictured, it’s even better so they must’ve upgraded. The remote has 2 cool features, the away from home and the natural wind buttons. The away from home feature is where you can press the house button and only the light will come on and stay on for 20 minutes and then go off for 60 minutes then repeats 5 times. This is a great feature for when I go on vacation. The wind feature is where the fan will automatically change speeds to mimic the wind outside. This is a great ceiling fan and I’ve received lots of compliments. Pictures do not do this fan justice.

Installed this yesterday, took about 2.5 hrs with removing the old piece o junk. It went well, had one extra red wire since the old fan had separate hot wires & switches for the light and fan. This new fan is all integrated so I just capped off the unwanted (black in my case) wire (just need one hot). Install was easy from there, one person could do it. I had no idea of all the features (see photo)- diming light, “walk away timer” (kills light after 1 min), breeze mode (varies the speed randomly), home security mode (turns light on randomly briefly) and of course 3 fan speeds. What a gem! Day 1, everyone loves it. Plus- you can replace the bulbs unlike so many fans now where you apparently throw the whole thing away when a light goes out (what a scam, and pain, and expense!).

Best ceiling fan I have ever purchased! The color of the boards are reversible, I particularly love the lighter side. The bubbles in the glass add a very nice feature too. The remote control Is amazing! The fan isn’t loud at all, it’s actually a very soothing sound when it’s on its highest speed. The installation was easy too!

I really like this fan. It was easy to install. It takes a little while though. I couldn’t figure out how to install it when I have a separate light switch than the fan. I had an extra wire that wasn’t in the instructions so I decided to put it with the other light wire. It works fine with the remote, but the switches on the wall are off a bit. I need to try something else or just use the remote. Love the features with the remote. The walk away feature is pretty cool, it turns the light off in a minute so you can walk out of the room with the light on. It has an away button that randomly turns the light on and off to imitates someone being home. It has a natural breeze button that alternates the speed like a breeze. It comes with light bulbs, on the warmer end of the spectrum. I used the lighter wood side on the fan blades, the other side is wood grain black.

This is the second Honeywell fan I have purchased in four months. I also have the 50614-01 Carnegie LED Ceiling Fan 52″. Both of them were easy to install, exactly alike–no tricky wiring, easy replacement for my older fans, and I am satisfied with the amount of air they move. Follow the instructions and you will have an easy time installing this. The remote is responsive and no issues there and no setup/pairing involved. I really wish these companies would develop something more appealing to the eye for a remote and maybe something with a nicer looking wall mount or over the switch stick-on mount like Hunter. I supposed that if I wanted to add this fan to my hub I could always swap the wall switch for a smart switch to get the off/on working and then install smart bulbs in the far so I can add them to SmartThings, or Hue, and/or Alexa. This would only support off/on through the wall switch and off/on of the lights if the wall switch was on–no speed settings.

Bought two fans…looked at reviews of installation and paid attention. (Thank you to all who posted) But what happened to us was that one of the screws was bolted in so tight (for attaching fan blades) that the screw got stripped, had to take the fan to local hardware store to see what could be done. Had to buy an extraction tool to get screw out along with a new screw as there was no extra for this. This fan was installed and just needed to have blades put on. When this happened, had to uninstall and start over. This process took 5 hours including the trip to the store. The second fan was installed in 50 min. Advice: check screws that attach fan blades before installing. Once everything was up though, minus some cursing, they look and work great!
