10 reviews for Hammerhead 10-Amp Variable Speed Plunge Woodworking Router Kit with Parallel Guide and Vacuum Adaptor – HAPR100

I like to do lots of woodworking projects in my garage and I have been using this plunge woodworking router intensely for some time now.It has one wrench system instead of two which makes it easy to replace the bit which is nice. It has a speed adjustment switch that is soft still does not move while in use. Same with micro depth adjustment which has nice tension it is not going to change on its own.I can say this router is well designed with precision and power. It has a powerful motor but it is still smooth to operate. It has a heavy-duty aluminum frame which is lightweight. It has a smooth plastic base which helps to slide smoothly during woodwork. It has a rubber handle which gives a nice comfort grip. Dept adjustment is super easy to use with the release button on the left-hand side which is easy to access quickly. Also has plastic protection which is nice. I have also used parallel guide attachment intensely. It has safety lock switch system which is nice.It has a good and effective dust collection system with a dust collection attachment for the vacuum cleaner which I love.It does not have an LED which I wish to have in this type of tool. Also no carry case. Also, the power switches a little bit hard to press and hole although these are not big issues.Overall I can say it has been a great addition to my toolbox and I enjoyed using it.

I started getting into woodworking the last year or so and never knew how badly I needed a router until this one got here. I had a problem with the micro adjustment i have to admit it may of been user error but they had no problem sending me a brand new unit the next day after I told them about the piece breaking. As for comfort the angled handles and the ease of access to all of the adjustments fits perfectly and gives me control over a very powerful tool. If you are on a budget or new or even experienced this is an amazing tool.

Work very good, if know how used, I rows edges and strayed the wood on top with the other one

Out of the Box, it looks and feel decent. The plastic does not feel too brittle and ergonomics of the handles are very nice. My first impression was “OK this is comparable to HF” its no Dewalt, Makita, Bosch, etc, but it will do. When comparing to my HF Chicago electric router that has the same Amps, RPMS, and speed adjustments, I was more inclined to grab the hammer head. There are a few main differences for such preference. First, the micro adjustments on the Hammerhead are more dialed in whereas the HF router was a simple threaded rod that has continued to vibrate out of place multiple times. Second, I really like the height adjustment feature. On my HF router, if I wanted to lock the plunge, I have to plunge, hold it in place, then twist the lock knob. The Hammerhead lock knob is spring loaded so its a simple, push with thumb, plunge to height, release knob with thumb and it would lock in place. That is a much nicer feature than HF when trying to get more precise cut depths. So in summary, I will continue to reach for the Hammerhead when doing top mounted routing and will leave my HF router mounted underneath my Router table. The only thing my HF router has going for it is that I have owned it almost 7 years and have had no issues with the chuck, motor, plunge, locking, etc. If the Hammerhead lasts as long, I then I would choose Hammerhead over HF in the future.

i was hesitant to buy this router, but other peoples reviews convinced me it might be ok. well i was surprised how well it works. ive used it to route pine, maple, mahogany, and corian plastic. its quite powerful and never bogged down. i wish it had a 1/2″ collar to go along with the 1/4″ like my porter cable, but its not a deal breaker. cant beat it for the price.

Excelente para lo que lo estoy utilizando

When you first get into woodworking, you don’t realize how often you’re going to need a router until you get one. This is a durable and well-constructed router that is perfect to take your woodworking to the next level. It’s a nimble size with a variety of guides that allow for precision work. The handles have good ergonomics, and the safety features ensure you can handle this tool without risk of injury. The construction is a combination of metal and heavy duty plastic. It comes with a good quality power cable that will plug into a standard outlet. I also appreciate the adjustment wrench that is mounted directly on the side of the unit. The wrench is flush with the unit and does not impede operation. This is a good tool that will provide you with years of use.

This router is so much nicer than I was expecting. It’s a plunge router that has all the features you would expect so you can set the plunge depth and lock it down to the lowest position to use as a fixed depth router. The motor speed can be adjusted easily and the handles feel good and are comfortable to use.The parallel guide that’s included allows for straight cuts but also has an attachment to cut arcs and circles and it works very well. A vacuum adapter is included but you will need a hose adapter because the fitting size is very small. Not difficult but something I had to figure out since I haven’t had a router with a vacuum attachment. it works fine without the vacuum piece which is removable with 2 screws, although it does make a lot more of a mess. The collet is the standard 1/4 inch size and a wrench is included to change bits. No router bits are included with this but they are so inexpensive on Amazon for a starter set. The wrench for the bits stores on the unit so you won’t lose it. Overall, I’m very impressed with the build quality and how well this router works. It doesn’t feel like a cheap router and so far it’s been very reliable for my home use for woodworking projects. I wasn’t sure if a 10 amp motor would be enough but it’s been fine to cut through MDF and plywood with no issues.
