Guardian Fall Protection Bucket of Safe-Tie
The Bucket of Safe-Tie is a roofing kit built for the roofer, by the roofer. It is one of those few kits that includes a lifeline with an integrated shock absorber, which allows the worker to never have to worry about incorporating an additional shock absorbing lanyard into their fall protection system.
Removing the shock absorbing component also results in less weight placed on the dorsal D-ring, resulting in an increase in comfort level and ease of movement.
Features & Benefits
- Polydac rope for the VLA does not absorb water
- Shock pack reduces worker fatigue
- 18in. lanyard extension keeps positioning device within reach and reduces trip hazards
- Includes Velocity Harness – an entry level harness
- Temper anchor comes with screws and nails, as well as off-set holes so it doesn’t split the roof trusses
- Comes with bi-lingual instructions

The quality of the product is very good and I’m left feeling very secure while wearing the harness. The materials provide could include better and more updated graphics. The harness wears well and is adjustable. The long rope is helpful if you need to get back to the ground via a ladder without taking off the full harness. However, it would be nice if there could be a 2nd latch so the rope could be removed without taking off the entire harness. Overall, I feel very good having this as a safety feature while working at heights.

Slid off my metal roof installing solar panel mounts. Windy day. And walked away with a slight scratch. Buy it and use it.

The media could not be loaded. Bought this prior to a home roofing project. The rope, adjustable clamp, harness and roof attachment are all heavy duty. I used this religiously on the tear off and underlayment placement on my roof. Then the day I was shingling the south side of my 2nd story I failed to wear it and accidentally stepped onto frost on the NORTH side where I didn’t intend to work and fell. This was a very costly and painful mistake and I would kick myself if I could but that will be 3 more months! I cannot stress enough how easily an accident can happen and how mine could have easily been prevented had I not failed to wear it that one time! ALWAYS WEAR YOUR SAFETY EQUIPMENT!

Used this while installing a steep roof on a cabin. I did not anchor to the ridge beam however anchored the rope through the cabin framing. I used this as a hybrid climbing set-up, utilizing the rope for tension to have something to hold on to and balance with. If I had to do again, I would use this for fall safety, but also utilize another rope and carabiner for hand holds.

I bought this about 4 months ago to work on a cabin I’m building. The roof is very steep and high up. I was at the top of my 20′ extension ladder, well not the very top but as high as you are supposed to go. The ladder collapsed and the next thing I knew I was hanging off the edge of my roof by this safety harness. My friend ran over and the first thing I said was “the safety harness works!”.I was very diligent in making sure there was very little slack in the line as I go up the ladder and get to the spot where I’m working. When I fell I had 2 or 3 feet of slack in the line. It didnt’ hurt at all to fall a few feet and the buckle in the back did not hit my head. I didn’t fall far enough to release the shock cord part of the system.Great product!

I didn’t find this to be difficult to put on with another person helping. Adjusting is fairly easy if one has watched a video on the subject. I am so glad I bought this because it saved me from a fall. I was working on a roof and stepped on a tool. I lost my balance even though I was holding the rope with one hand. I stopped short of the edge. That was a lesson. I will never go up without a harness and I will pay more attention to where the tools are. I highly recommend this harness to anyone.

I was not able to test the installation of the anchor because I used the anchor the roofers left installed, but the harness and rope were fantastic. While on a steep roof 25′-30′ feet up, this harness gave me confidence to know I had a means to control imbalance and slips. I wouldn’t have put up the roof Christmas lights without this. You can fall only as much as the slack you give yourself, so having that control made me feel much more at ease being on the edge that high up. Definitely spend a little for the peace of mind if you are at risk of a fall.

Bought two as my brothers and I replaced the roof on my parents house. These were critical for that work and we couldn’t have done it without these. They do grow slightly uncomfortable after many hours of use, but I think anything would. I expect if you use it everyday for a week it is something you get used to.This comes with everything you need – the anchor for the rope, the rope, the harness and also the most critical piece – the rope grab which keeps your harness connected to the rope. You can always easily move your rope grab up the main tether by pushing it up the rope, but you must use a double action motion on the rope grab in order to unlock it to move down on the rope – exactly what you want for roofing safety.Luckily there were no falls or close calls during the project, so I can’t speak for all of the features but the rest of the items were as expected. Always inspect your belt for damage or fraying, and remember you should only use these kits for one fall. If you fall again in these it could be very painful or life threatening. They are only $100, less than a lot of people’s copays. If you didn’t fall and the rope and other items are not showing signs of wear, you can re-use this over and over again.

The item arrived undamaged in a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. All the contents inside were undamaged and functioned as it should. I added another home to our portfolio and the roof is a 8.5/12 pitch which I would normally climb without a harness but with the height and becoming a new father I took no chances and purchased this kit.I’m 6 ft 210 broad shoulders and the harness fits comfortably without issue. This is my first safety harness I’ve purchased so I cannot compare it to another brand but for the price value factor it is a great value for a pro or diyer.
