The gas company pissed me off for the last time so I retired my old 400 lb bottle and picked up a 100 pounder from Lowe’s. When I run out of gas now I just unhook the bottle and take it to Ace hardware for a fill-up. While I was at it I switch to this unit from my old 50 gallon tank heater.I installed the unit using the hookups from the old tank, fired it up and jumped in the shower. It performed better than expected and could not be happier. Having unlimited hot water is awesome and the unit looks modern with the touchscreen face.

After a little adjusting, it seems to suit our needs just perfect. We live in Northern Michigan and our water temp is at about 40′. So we needed to turn down the water inlet to allow enough time for the heater to do its thing and raise the temp to 115′. It does it at a rate of about 2.5-2.9 gpm. It is enough for 2 things to be using hot water at the same time. Seems to be very well made and we’ll see how it holds up.3-2019 Update;Still working just as new. Not one problem. Very happy with this unit.

We use these all the time in our tiny homes. They are awesome. Only complaint I’ve heard is that it is kind of loud if mounted right in the bathroom. We usually mount it in a storage closet. Timbercrafttinyhomes.com

Purchased i12-lp several months ago. I am remodeling a beach front retirment home. Installation took most of the day, running for parts ect…..Im not a spring chicken anymore….was not in a rush. Not any diffrence from the 50 gallon electric heater I removed (except way cheaper to use). Can easily handle a high power shower head. Wife always removes water saver. Cant do 2 showers at once, nor could 50 gallon elec. Can take as many showers or chores as you wish one after another and never run out of 140 hot water. Water temp in is about 58 degrees. Water out 140 degrees @ 1.5 GPM +-.. Please note, I am an experianced home builder of 30 plus years. Never install LP gas lines if you are not a pro. This unit works great for my wife and I and the ocasional visit from kids and grandkids. I recomend it.

Really couldn’t have been simpler. Purchase the valve kit and your ready. Another key is to use with twin faucet controls instead of single mixer. Your sure to keep plenty of water for flowing which is key.

Hooked it up myself without any issues. Follow code diligently and you should be fine. Provides hot water for a household of 2 adults. We can wash dishes and take showers at the same time without concern. Spent more time pulling out the old hot water heater than installing the tankless. Takes about 45 seconds for water to reach temp at faucet. The controls are very simple. I bought refurbished and it was pretty much brand new.Update: I had concern that the cool water coming in would not heat as warm as it did during the fall but with below freezing temperatures and a few days in the -30f the heater kept up with our issue. Temperature still heated to hot and I was still able to do dishes and takes steaming hot showers. No issues with the cold back flow from the exhaust during the cold temps.

I bought this to replace an electric tanked water heater, and could not be happier with how much better this is. No problem at all taking a shower at the same time as the dishwasher or clothes washer. Also… infinite showers! Never run out of hot water. My father and I did all the plumbing but you might want to hire a professional. The instructions aren’t always very clear. I’ve included a picture of my install. Don’t forget to install a safety pressure release. I used this one  Zurn RV 150 PSI CA# FWL-2 Lead Free Water Equipment, 3/4″ . I’ll probably also install clean-out valves when I clean it (de-scale) for the first time a year from now.You should also turn off the child-safety temperature limiter (press your finger on the lock icon for maybe 10 seconds, also not spelled out well in the instructions). Having hotter water means you mix in more cold at the shower, reducing the GPM need.

This only having 3.5 gpm works awasom for one person at a time for taking showers. Make sure you order the 3/4″ valve kit so that you can clean the unit every 6 months with the cleaning kit from amazon. Update: I have been using my unit for 3 months now and all through winter my gas bill droped 30 dollars my first month! I am 100% happy with mine and if you have any questions about the install or jow it works feel free to ask me, I am more then happy to help!

I’m very happy with this product, but I also had a valuable learning experience. If you plan to replace your tankless gas heater with this guy, it will install in no time. BUT…If you plan to replace a TANKED gas water heater with this tankless heater, get ready for a lot of trips to your Home Depot. This heater is designed to mount on an outside wall and vent directly behind the unit and through the wall. The vent pipe is pretty small, around 2 inches diameter and 18 inches in length. My initial pan was to remove the gas heater, install this guy on the wall, then use the existing galvanized 3 inch pipe to vent. NOPE! This will violate the warranty, your local building codes, and possibly test your fire insurance claims department. Due to the high heat output (80,000 BTU) and the condensation issues that occur with this heat, stainless steel piping is required. Just try to find someone local that sells 2″ Stainless steel vent pipes! The manufacturer sells a vertical vent kit for another $200+ but that pipe cannot fit inside of your current roof vent. You will need to remove the old vent and install the new one. For me, it was easier to cut the pipes and relocate the heater to an outside wall instead of creating roofing issues.

After trying 2 other tankless water heaters for my outdoor soaking tub that didn’t work, this one worked perfectly.I have a mineral spring well that puts out 95 degree water temp but I wanted the water to be 104 degrees. I used this heater along with a recirculation pump and now along with some creative plumbing I fill the tub with 95 degree well water and then recirculate the water trhu the heater at 130 degrees and in about 30 minutes my 300 gallon soaking tub is at 104 degrees. Really like the digital read out and seeing the flow rate thru the heater.
