I got my dremel in April 2018. I really messed up I got my waist length hair caught up in it! (Totally my fault) it gave me the worlds longest dread lock in about 2 seconds! After about an hour of untangling my hair from the works I turned on the dremel and of course it was broke. I called the number on the paperwork told them what happened. They told me just to send the unit in and they would fix or replace it! So I did what they said and I got it back really FAST! Plus they included a light attachment (I guess so I can see if my hair is in the way!😄) I am really enjoying my dremel tool now (allways with my hair in a braid!). Happy with the dremel company and the tool.

First 10 mins. of use, motor started sparkinig, I shut it down, turn switch back on, but motor was fried. I am very disappointed. I’ve worked with power tools for years and this is the first one that died while in use.Made a call to Dremel, let them know of the trouble. They promptly sent me another one (new) with no problem. They sent me a return label and I mailed back the faulty. I’ve been very happy with the new on they sent me. 5-starsThank you Dremel !!!

My wife bought me a rotary tool and it was awesome, until it wasn’t. I couldn’t find a flex shaft attachment that would fit it, it started to become unbalanced after only a few uses, and it wasn’t very ergonomic to hold. I bought the dremel flex shaft thinking it would fit but alas, no it didn’t. After finding this package deal on the best Dremel around for a great price, I got it and it’s head and shoulders above the Chicago Electric brand I originally got. The manual that comes with it is super helpful and it can do just about anything with wood, metal, glass, plastics, and rock. If you’re looking for a cool hobby that will scratch your creativity itch, try this!

able to shape wood. hours on no problem. wish i could buy without a kit. I prefer to use tools for proper tasks. Sure i can use this dremel for almost anything around a house, but it would be inefficient. So far I only need the flexible shaft which does not come in this kit. Also be careful with the new 3-Jaw chuck, it will loosen on bits from vibration, there is no positive way to lock it down. had to use old style chuck for woodcarving, that held very well and probably will use that for everything else, last thing i need is a bit flying out at 35000 RPM…. not very safe.

I have resisted purchasing a Dremel tool for years because of the cost. I have had a Black and Decker RTX rotary tool in the past and never used it very much. Then I had a big remodeling job at home and needed several of the blades that are newer than the last time I purchased a rotary tool. The quick change diamond wheel, plastic cutting wheel, reinforced quick change cutting wheels, etc. I know I could have just purchased the bits and used them on my RTX, but I decided to take the plunge and buy the Dremel 4300 kit. The quick change arbor for the wheels is AWESOME! The drill chuck is OK, but don’t make it a reason to purchase this. I thought the new light would be gimmicky, but it is actually helpful when getting into semi tight spaces. If they space is too small, the light will have to go as it is kinda bulky. The Rotary tool itself, it very good, not super loud, runs pretty cool, the air vents are not in the way, reasonably ergonomic. I would like it to be thinner for some other operations, but I think the flex head will help with that (once I buy that). The variable speeds does make a huge difference (I was having trouble with a bit using it at max speed (35k), I looked up the recommended speed, which was 20k and it performed so much better.).

people who did not read the manual or check the reviews were the ones who had problems with the product. first thing I did was to read the manual and check out the reviews. then I open the box to remove the product and ran the motor on lowest speed for 5 mins.after that I ran it on highest speed for 5 mins.let cool down then went to work with the Dremel.on any motor with bushes, you have to set the bushes first before running the motor.

  7. The Wood Man

Dremel has been the king of rotary tools since the beginning. I bought this to replace one I probably had for 20 years. It’s one of those tools that once you use it, you wonder how you did without one for so long. My favorite feature on this on is that you get separate switches for on/off and speed. Very useful since most of my work is done at the same speed setting. Now I can just hit the on/off and it goes to the last set speed. It comes with a fair assortment of accessories and of course there are many more to choose from on the web.Get one, you’ll not regret it.

I’ve been using Dremel for maybe not quite 20 years, so I’ve got the attachments and bits I need. When my old unit finally quit on me, I was relieved to find this kit. It’s well stocked with extra bits and sanding discs, etc., but doesn’t duplicate things like the flex shaft, 90° adapter, and circle cutter that I already have.On the other hand, the worklight and the shield are two accessories that didn’t come with my previous kit, but look possibly useful.I’m pleased that this unit has a separate on/off and RPM switch, unlike my old unit that combined these functions.I’m also happy that all of the old attachments I’ve tried seem to have maintained compatibility. The case is nice — heavy duty and relatively slim — but it’s crowded and won’t house all my my extra pieces.

  9. Clay roller

This is a high-quality tool, so if you use your Drexel a lot, I would highly recommend this model. It has a strong motor that can handle a lot of heavy-duty use. My last, cheaper Drexel wore out, but I doubt this will. It’s extremely versatile; more like a handyman’s tool than just a craft tool. I’m a woman and don’t find holding it any problem. Easy to change the shank, which I appreciate. I mostly use it to polish polymer clay jewelry, but it would be great for wood carving I think. They seem to dance around the question of where they are manufactured, so thinking it’s not the US.

The Dremel 4300 rotary tool (aside from the accessories) is their latest incarnation of hand held. Historically a top quality tool, there isn’t much new beyond cosmetics and a minor power increase. When compared physically to my old AC-powered Dremel 398 and lithium cordless Dremel 800, the 4300 is noticeably heavier and has the most girth (see pic below). It’s a minor trade-off for a more powerful tool.Often it’s the accessories that make a package standout. The 4300-5/40 bundle has an adequate molded plastic case and good complement of accessories. A higher end bundle exists (4300-9/64) but it’s main attraction is a fancier tool box. In either case the new LED light stands out, illuminating right on target. Dremel has had LEDs for a while (I have a ‘Dremelite’ which is magnetically-self-powered but doesn’t illuminate directly on the target). The EZ-Lock blade attachment system is new to me and a welcome addition, it’s a spring-loaded tip that accepts slotted blade accessories. Other accessories such as the useful tool-less chuck have been around for a while. If you already have a rotary tool there’s probably no reason to upgrade. If you don’t, the 4300 is a top-level entry into the world of fine Dremel tools!
