  1. Jose Perez

This was a gift for my girlfriend. She’s the carpenter. According to her; this tool is easy to manage, battery life is fair, and it’s well built. Plus the blades are easy to find and install. Comes in like in a small suitcase. Anyway; she put it to the test cutting cheroc, 2x4s, plywood, and wood planks, and she loves it. So yes; I would definitely recommend this product. One thing; it doesn’t come with the battery or the charger but if you take your time you will find a good deal that includes everything. Good luck.

  2. Amazon Customer

So far, this reciprocating saw has performed really well. Has as much power as most corded, full-size saws, yet is in a more compact and balanced packaged. Even with a 5Ah or 6Ah battery can be used single-handedly. Has four position, tool-free blade holder that makes it easy to change blades and holds blades securely. If already on the DeWalt battery platform, can wholeheartedly recommend this tool.

  3. Buffalo Lynn

Love this thing. Very glad I got the compact version. Fits inbetween studs and cuts great. Little more vibration, but my use is usually limited time.

Amazing product, I bought it for pruning in the yard, it has excellent power, battery life, best of all my wife (who originally thought it was stupid to buy this for yard) loves it and uses it all the time. I have an older Supersawal, which is great (a favorite tool), but the dewalt will now replace that tool .

  5. Eagletree

Purchased as a gift for a small women. It is much easier to handle than a full sized sawzall and thus very good for someone more diminutive, or someone that just needs a smaller sized unit for their work. It doesn’t seem to lack in capability.

  6. MGS

with the 5 amp battery that came with this saw I can use it for hours off and on and still not run out the battery. I love the smaller form factor and lighter weight then what my neighbor lent me which was the old style Milwaukee sawzall which works fine but weights a lot more and very hard to change the blades. This unit takes 30 seconds maximum to install or take out blades. The option to load them either vertically or horizontally is fantastic. Wish I bought one of these a several years ago. I have a DeWalt 12″ chop saw, table saw and cordless drill which are my go to tools. Have bought my son and son-in-law DeWalt tools so we can exhange batteries as needed within the product family. Well done DeWalt.

  7. E. Wilborn

I bought this version because of the brushless motor – I have a drill and impact driver with the brushless motor and find that the battery does seem to last longer than with a standard “brushed” motor. I bought the kit over the bare tool because the kit included a case, a $69 charger and $75 5AH battery for only $75 more than the bare tool price. What’s not to like there? This little monster tears right through 2 by boards, including nails, with the right blade. Compact size makes it easy to get into tight spaces.Great little saw.

  8. J. H. Goldman

A lot of power and control. The XR quality is powerful and uses little battery power. Using it all day with a single 5AH battery left the battery almost fully charged. It came with the DCB115 fast charger (75min charge) rather than the inferior DCB112 slow charger (150min charge) listed here in. That’s consistent with the DeWalt website description. The tool bag is rugged and easy to open and access the tool, charger and batteries.

  9. RDT

This is my first foray into 20 volt Lithium battery powered tools. Impressive! I have used it for pruning some large roots and branches and it is impressively strong. It is also compact and well balanced. Very easy to change blades. It has a safety, and, with a blade on it, it needs to be treated like a loaded weapon, which I am careful to do.

  10. Angela B.

With the included 5 Ah battery (and charger) this really gets after the dead trees and limbs on my land.I wear out before the battery does. However, it is loud and does vibrate. Wish Dewalt would have used the anti-vibration technology that my corded Skil recip saw has.Really like the Dewalt blade change system. Fast & easy in addition to 4 way blade positioning. And I like the fact that Dewalt is using consistent battery specs in multiple tools. I hope all the Dewalt 20V tools work as well as this recip saw.
