Perhaps my favorite and most useful tool purchase yet. Initially I was concerned about buying a battery operated saw because I did not believe it would be powerful enough to do it’s job or stay charged long enough to be useful. I was wrong and I love this thing!I specifically wanted a saw that would be cordless so when I’m cutting awkward objects on in tight spaces I would not have to worry about running a cable out and around me, this was perfect for that. I have 2.0Amp batteries and this saw definitely lasts long enough for the small batteries to be a problem. This saw has no problems cutting through 4×4 fence posts, fallen tree branches, or old furniture. I was truly impressed with its performance, much more so than my 20v brushless drivers that I also bought, this was definitely the better money spent. I enjoy that this saw allows for variable cutting speeds based off of how hard you are pulling the trigger.I would recommend this to anyone considering a cordless saw and I would absolutely buy this again if I ever needed.

This thing had made my life as a window installer a ton easier. Comes in handy since it’s light but kicks out a good amount of power, so I can cut through wood, nails, and nail nail fine all at once with no issues. Only thing I will note that other people have pointed out is that there is a good amount of vibration when you are cutting something as big as a 4×4. The guide helps, but most of the time it ends up slamming into whatever it’s pushed against. But again, what do you expect when you have a 6″ blade that’s cutting 4″ deep so.

I’ve used Dewalt 18v tools for 18 yrs so I am very used to how they perform. I recently bought the 20v brushless drill/impact combo and I was looking to add to my new collection. I liked the shorter length of this because it would be easier to carry on my van. I am very impressed. With the shorter length is has a much more balanced feel to it and the power is vastly superior to the old 18v model. I can’t see any reason why a professional wouldn’t like this saw.

I love this tool, it handy, efficient and powerful, I used this one with my existing 20V batteries to cut the tuff suspension bolts on my car, if placed and operated in the right spot, it can cut through heavy gauge metal like a hot knife in the butter.Awesome addition to my 20V tools stack.

Super Dewalt quality. Looking at the unique design, I wondered about how this saw would feel when in use. Let me say, this saw is a pleasure to use, I feel I have more control compared to the traditional design. But, there are times when the longer type of saw gives you that “extra” bit of reach. Conclusion, if I needed to buy one again, I would choose this one. And, by the way, these Dewalt 20 volt lithium batteries are great, very good, with a long run time. I have the 2, 3 and 4 ah for all the different tools. 2ah is adequate for the drills, for this saw I use the 3 or 4 ah. Please remember, lithium batteries should NOT be run down all the way. When the fuel gauge only has one led lit, let the battery cool down, charge it, let it rest a while, then put it back to work. Of course the extra smart Dewalt charger won’t charge a hot battery, until it cools down.

This is a great little sawzaw. You can chew through a fresh battery in no time, so make sure you have a few charged up during a job. These a great when you need a lighter weight saw to hold up in small spaces. If you don’t have access to power, then its a must have for a battery operated tool. If you are doing some serious cutting you need a corded sawzaw as the batteries wear out so fast. Get the recommended saw blade set as well from amazon. Those blades are awesome and helped me cut through mountains of concrete, wire lathing, wood, nails, etc. I could not have done my remodel job without this tool and am thankful I bought it.

This review is after owning this tool since 2019.I was a roughneck ang then got into building, landscaping, demolition, mechanics etc…I learned a few things in that time…right tool for the job makes a better (safer) job! This thing makes a lot of my jobs better and actually more fun. The only other thing to remember is to have the right blade for that job. I go from cutting steel, to lumber to PVC with a quick change of the blade. I even cut down small trees ,4″-14″, with this thing! I love not figuring out where to plug in and roll up. I keep an inverter and charger going in my truck so I always have full power. If you are doing small or large jobs…YOU WILL love this! Best to you on all you cut! Have fun.

Great saw for keeping the palm trees trimmed. I have six queen palms that need trimming a couple times a year. Instead of paying a service the $200 fee each time, I bought this Dewalt DCS387B and a Little Giant Revolution ladder and now do the trimming myself. Watched a few relevant youtube videos to learn the trimming techniques and the easiest way to raise and lower the telescoping Little Giant ladder to its full range of 26 feet; it’s manageable for one person; but watch the company’s instructional video. The right-angle of the Dewalt saw handle makes one-handed operation comfortable and precise while on the ladder. I’m using a pair of 2 amp-hour batteries that together make it thru all six palms with a little juice left.I’m delighted with the saw and grateful to save that $400-$600 per year to keep my palm trees looking good.

So to start off with I have a corded Dewalt Sawsall and this cordless version. Comparing the two, the corded version is bigger and heavier and had substantially more power. The last point makes sense though as it is plugin. However, this cordless version is still very nice and very useful. It does eat the battery up a bit faster than I’d like, but the freedom to maneuver the tool without a cord is very freeing as is any cordless tool. And I think that makes up for the shortcomings.Having said all of that, I recently used this cordless version to saw through a couple of PT 4x6s. No problem at all. It was a bit slower than my corded version but it could still handle the heavy load of these boards. All in all, I like the cordless version just fine.

I have a 20 V drill which is what convinced me to buy this unit. I have a Sawzall plug-in, but I wanted something portable. Dewalt has never failed me, so I figured, what the heck, give this a shot. Timing was PERFECT. The very week I bought this, our snowplow guy got stuck in a drift and couldn’t’ back out because he rammed his tailpipe against his rear tire. I pulled out my trusty brand spankin’ new Dewalt 20v saw and let ‘er rip. It did everything I expected from Dewalt. My snowplow guy was so impressed this was ‘only’ a 20 volt! So, to break this baby in, it performed better than Meryl Streep’s best Oscar performance.
