  1. Billybhoy

Its small and compact and good for small cut off jobs. I cut 1″ 13 gauge pipe and 15 gauge tracks but not a lot but when I need a quick trim this does the job. Keep it on my cart for ready use. If you going to do a lot cutting of course you would be better of with a 110 volt model.

This is not a 380 h.p., 15in stoke, cutting down redwoods tool. If you expect such performance from a 12v device, please don’t leave a review. From weed eater to circular saw, I have quite a few 20v devices. I have a few 12v tools, and I find myself gravitating towards their use for around the house, weekend chores and now, at work. Lightweight and compact, they make quick work of daily task. This recip saw is no different. Light, compact, grab and go and makes quick work of most homeowner and network/radio tech task. While my co-workers are lugging around full-size (20v+) tools, I can work more efficiently with a lighter tool and it’s easier on my back and shoulders.Sure, sometimes you need more power, but I suggest giving the 12v line a try.If I have a complaint, is that DeWalt should develop the 12v line. I’d like to see brushless and more choices.

The gate has a wide opening in it made some certain things a lil harder to cut but overall as an electrician it’s a good finish work saw great for cutting out strapping and old work boxes threaded rod and uni strut but I wouldn’t recommend it for pvc anything over 2 inch and 2×4 you can only get 2 or 3 cuts in a 2×4 before the battery dies

  4. Tim Baker

This works great for tight stuff, almost worth just for toilet “t” bolts, I’m a handyman and do alot of volunteer work, I now have a 12volt go bag that I can grab, and handle most small jobs with, and lite, and strong. There is always a tool that pays for itself, this is one.

  5. Valentine McGillycuddy

i read the comments and was unsure about buying this but i use it for work pretty much every chance i can. i use it for cutting sheetrock and aluminum. ive carved some studs and the occasional emt but this has been a life saver of the small tedious jobs.

  6. Dad of 3

I had serious doubts about this saw but it has turned out to be my “go to” favorite. I have a full size DeWalt 20 volt saw and a Makita corded model and I’m not about to sell them but this little saw is amazing. For everything from shortening a bolt, cutting nails off lumber, to making a quick cut on p.c.v pipe, or zipping off some hardware in a limited access exhaust system this little baby has come through. It’s light, very easy to use in tight spaces and more powerful than it deserves to be. I’ve been around tools my whole life, this one keeps making me grin.

I purchased this saw to cut in some windows on a home renovation, and it works great. You can get into some very tight spaces and make nice clean cuts. It has a lot of cutting power, and the variable speed function along with the LED light allow for some very accurate cutting as well, especially having the ability to reverse the blade. I have since found several other cutting uses for it because it is so convenient. It works great on PVC and ABS plumbing piping. Overall a very handy saw to have in the tool box.

  8. Big Sarge

Simply love this tool… Had to install a hollow wall box in 3/4 dry wall and sawing by hand just wasn’t getting the job done. I had just got this thing and was not interested in getting drywall dust all over it but it had to be done or I was gonna be there all day. It cut through like butter… I like desalt 12v stuff. Some say it’s light weight but if you need more than this… call a contractor!

  9. Russ Seibert

This saw works well. It is not an 18 or 20 volt saw, so don’the expect it to run as long or strong. I cut a 1.5 inch schedule 40 steel pipe supporting a public park style bbq. It used 1 battery to get about 2/3 of the way thru with a new 18tpi blade. 2nd battery finished it off no problem. If you have 12 volt tools or just want a smaller saw, this is it. I have both 12 volt and 18 volt dewalt tools. They both have there place. The 12 volt drill doesn’t tip my girl friend over when she hands it to me.
