10 reviews for CLC Custom LeatherCraft 1528 Large Electrical and Maintenance Tool Carrier, 22 Pocket , Black , 11″ x 10″ x 19″h

I returned two others and settled on this one. I maintain a couple apartments but I’m not a full time tradesman, and this is plenty tough construction, i’m guessing it will last me 10 years – good canvas, rigid where it needs to be so the whole thing maintains shape – the others did not and they were uselessly floppy. For me there’s the right # of pockets, the zip pocket for small items, and a functional screw/parts box. Study the pictures and if it’s what you need, I can say you get what you see. The longer/narrower version is fine too but I like the depth of this and felt it had better loops and pockets.

I don’t know what’s up with all the low reviews. This bag is awesome. Pretty easy to organize, holds a ton of tools and such. The center pocket is perfect for my test equipment. One side hold all my crimpers, the other my toner and irregularly used hand tools. On one outside I have my cable cutters and strippers, on the other screw drivers and such. My light duty dealt drill pokes down bedsheets the crimpers. The tackle box is full of commectors, crimps, rack screws, and such. It’s pretty heavy but the flat side lets it easily ride on top of my pelican 1560 case. Also should note that my kit regularly gets compliments from coworkers and clients, which is pretty nice.

Another awesome CLC bag. I bought most the bags in this line (black and tan color scheme) for luggage, hygiene kit, truck organizer. I’m confident they’d be durable enough for tools. They’ve been tossed in trains, planes and automobiles without incident. This matches my Tundra and my other bags I’ve owned for over two years.

A guy at work has purchased this same bag multiple times over the years. It holds up really well to all the abuse (telecom installs) that we put it through. I really love the storage container that slides in the bottom and zips in. It is extremely convenient. I put probably 30 lbs of tools in this bag, and it holds the weight in a way that isn’t overly cumbersome like some bags do. The different sectioned areas are also very convenient for trying to be organized. It helps hold vertical tools, like screwdrivers in place so you can easily find it. Haven’t done installs for a while, but I still use the bag at home, and I still really like it.

This is a great bag for hauling tools! The pockets and dividers make it possible to haul a lot of tools and keep them “findable”. If you fill them up, they may require an assistant to help carry them. Super stout and well designed.

Holds a lot, Great bag for the price, there’s enough varying slots and the component box pocket repurposed makes a great place to store a meter! If you keep one side free of bulky items its a breeze to carry with the shoulder strap, probably loaded to about 45 lbs when keeping atop a rolling packout. Can drop items and carry freely about 30lbs, some of the deeper pockets eat smaller things but easily fixed with a wadded up piece of cardboard etc.

So far this toolbag has been excellent. I definitely have to give it 5 stars for quality, practicality, and because it also comes with a shoulder strap included – and this is a BIG plus. One thing to make note of – This bag, believe it or not, can carry quite a large number of tools, components, and other devices a field technician would find themselves using on a daily basis. This is both a good and a bad thing. It’s good because you can pretty much carry everything you need, including a couple power tools. However, it’s bad because due to the fact that this is larger upright carrier, you tend to want to cram as many things in to it as possible, resulting in the weight of the bag increasing exponentially. If you’re a beast of a human and slinging 45-55-60 pounds on your shoulder is no big deal, then by all means, this is undoubtedly the carrier for you. If you’re more or less on the average side of the human race, then it would be wise to be mindful of the tools and how many of them you decide to cram in to this carrier, as it can get heavy pretty darn fast.Aside from that side-note, I do love this bag. I can fit nearly everything I need in it, and it has definitely saved me from having to make extra trips back to my van or my office to get the tools I need.

The one thing I was worried about was deformed handles from improper packaging that I read about in other reviews. The bag arrived in an adequately sized box yet the handles still had a slight bend and crease to them. I was able to straighten the handles out by warming up the underlying plastic with a hair dryer and hanging the bag up with the shoulder strap attached to the D rings. I was able to bend and massage the two crease out.The bag is great for organization and allows me to get tools without having to dig through a bag. So far the pockets and material seem very sturdy. The bag has a shoulder strap, carry handle and also has four feet on the bottom to keep bag kinda off the ground or whatever you set it on.

I take what tools I may need for a specific task and put them in this. It has room for plenty, and sections/pockets/holders for a good variety of tools. I found it handy for things like putting up a TV wall mount and replacing electrical fixtures with any/everything needed in one toolkit.

These days I’m hesitant to purchase items on Amazon primarily based on star ratings but I’ll have to admit this tool carrier lives up to somewhere between a four and five star rating: excellent stitching, heavy canvas material, perfect size for me, the grip on the handle is comfortable even with a fully loaded back, and lots of slots for various sized tools. Especially though, my first impression was that this is quality item. At it’s current price I’m even taking the (uncompensated) time to write a very favorable review. I think this carry bag is actually deserving of a 4 1/2 star rating; only docked it half a star for no coffee holder… 😉
