10 reviews for Can-Do Clamp

Used these to build some frames to stretch canvas over. I tested a few pieces of scrap to make sure the corners would be square. I placed two 1″x2″ boards in the clamp haphazardly and tightened down the clamp and put a couple of brads in to secure them, then measured. Using a quick layout square, I found a perfectly square connection. The boards self-centered and came together right where I needed them. The clamps have some weight to them too and have slots to mount them to a bench for repeatable jobs.

These clamps are amazing compared to the old corner clamps I had been using for years in my woodworking hobby. The old clamps were hard to align and I was never guaranteed a 90 degree fit. These clamps are not only great from an ease of use and accuracy perspective, but they will hold up versus the resin/plastic comparable products that I read everyone is breaking when they clamp them down. The price is definitely a little higher than what I wanted to spend per clamp (I bought 2). After using them I will now invest in more and hoping I will never have to buy another set. I did read the complains about the red paint transfer and while I did see some of that it was minimal, and I was able to sand it right off. I’m glad I bought these versus the plastic versions which are cheaper. The other nice thing about these is that you can join two different thicknesses with no issues. Overall I am very satisfied and definitely recommend these to anyone needing good corner clamps for woodworking.

These clamps are amazing. I originally thought they were much smaller based on a similar clamp my father-in-law has, but these are much heftier. When they arrived I actually thought they would be too big for the initial project I bought them for, but I still managed to use them because the clamp surface has a nifty swivel design, allowing me to swivel just enough for it to fit the corners I needed to clamp.I was unaware that the clamps swiveled in such a fashion to allow for additional applications. I thought they merely clamped down on the corner of a 90 deg. angle with matching sizes, but they can do much more than that. Since they swivel, you can easily use them to join two different thicknesses of wood. These are way more versatile and robust than I originally thought and well worth the cost. I’ll buy two more when I can afford them to clamp glue custom made frames without having to wait and switch out two corners after drying.Well worth the cost based on the versatility they provide, and quality. Clamping is smooth and very strong.

Parts a little bit out of square? These clamps are the best I’ve found. They are a little unwieldy, and a bit tricky to get the hang of using, but, once you do, they’re golden. Within reason, they will force any imperfect boards into square. I made blocks to fit underneath the clamps to raise them off my workbench so I could fit pipe clamps and parallel clamps underneath to pull the boards together. The left area and the right area of the clamps are parallel and flat, so the pieces automatically flush themselves up – again, within reason. I use wood pads on all four mating surfaces of the clamps to avoid marring my workpiece, and I made a 1/4″ spacer, 5/8″ wide to sit within one of the channels of the clamp to account for a 1/4″ rabbet on the back of six bookcases I’m building. The corners between the body and the shelves are perfectly square. There are some blue ones for sale by another company and they’re good and high-quality, but they are for holding parts in place that are already square. These are great for imperfect boards.

Great corner Clamp for putting two boards of different thickness together so that the glue can dry. Really impressed by how the Corner doesn’t sit on the clamp so that you don’t have to worry about dripping glue or the clamp getting glued to the boards! When I Clamp I use the Can-Do Clamp for the bottom corner, and a smaller corner Clamp for the top 1/2. I picked up a knock off Clamp at Harbor Freight, but Amazon has the Bessey version that goes well with the Can Do Clamp. Bessey WS-3 Angle Clamp they make a great pair. Love my Can Do!

The media could not be loaded.  I purchased four of these Can-Do Clamps for assembling Bee Colony Boxes. The maximum thickness of pass-through stock on these is 1 and 3/4 inches. The maximum lay flat miter or T-Joint thickness is 2 and 3/4 inches. The Clamp body is nice and heavy, painted aluminum. The threads are of good quality and the clamp holds very firm with very good gripping of the stock. The corners are OPEN, so any glue can drip down the joint without messing up the clamp, you also have open access to the joints for screwing or drilling the corners without the clamp getting in the way.You can bench mount it, wall mount it, or use it to shim stock while locking down the 90 degree angle.I use two at a time, as shown in the video, and have them clamp opposite 90 degree angles, this makes all angles a true 90 degrees. They work exactly as I expected them to, I expect these clamps to last a VERY long time as there really just isn’t anything to wear out. I recommend them without hesitation or reservation. When it comes to the inconvenience of the sliding T-handle for adjusting, I just get it well within a few centimeters of the stock I plan to clamp, then just put it on and finish tightening.

I originally bought two Kreg corner clamps, which didn’t work out. I was building a bookcase, using pocket holes, and I needed to get the carcass square. This can be a frustrating process, but with these clamps it made it a breeze. The clamps allow a lot of flexibility so you can get your corners to a perfect 90 degrees. With these holding the corners in place, it was a cinch to glue the backboard and secure the carcass to square. These clamps will make joinery, and squaring any cabinet a breeze.

Great tool, can’t believe I have waited this long to buy one! For years I have been using cheaper clamps and/or finding substitutes for a clamp. This is a solid and accurate clamp and really not that expensive when you consider the alternatives or the cost of an imperfect angle to the overall project. It is easy to use and saves time and rework.Used this for a few projects now, and I’m really happy with it. Great for keeping things square during glue-ups or while drilling. It’s also an amazing aid while assembling things. I’ve had poor experience with other 90 clamps not being very accurate; but these feel solid, and I had pretty high confidence in its ability to hold things true.

Nicely made. My 90 degree work is much more productive since I got this. It swivels a little as it tightens adding to its useful design – not fixed and stiff. A little wiggle room can make a difference. My wife sometimes uses it for her hobby work.

  10. RyanRyan

Pretty awesome addition to my tool collection. Very versatile and easy to use. It’s made out of a strong metal material and the tightening screw is very smooth. The clamp is definitely high quality. I’m using it in conjunction with a kreg jig to make perfect joints on cornhole boards. Works great.
