I’ve had 2 sets of the Bosch drill/drivers for a number of years. I like them because I am a woman with arthritis and many of the electric drills/drivers are so heavy that my hands hurt from using them. These are strong, well made and have long lasting batteries. They work better than some of the larger ones I have had in the past.

I have purchased five (5) of these amazing Bosch hand drills over the past six years for one reason, they are amazing and indestructible and hold a charge even longer than my Amazon Kindle. Three were for me ( 2 primary daily use and one backup) and two for my grown kids. They perform for days without a recharge and by all rights deserve a beautiful holster (which I do not have) like a fine sidearm. Anyone reading this knows what I am talking about. I purchased my latest one because I was concerned they might go out of production some time soon. They are great and take a beating and hold a charge. The only thing slightly negative that people say about the “phaser” is that its tough to remove the “forever” battery out of the handle because you have to press two side tabs to release the battery.Yes this is true but it gets easier and is well worth the amazing performance of this unit. Thank you Bosh for such a great design. I use it every day and there is nothing like it. Buy two or buy one and after you try it buy another because this design will disappear because thats how it happens with real quality useful items like this. The Bosch portable radio uses the same battery and its a fine product also Have fun!

This is a good drill. I just used it for the first time yesterday to add legs to a piece of ikea furniture. Woked great on the pilot holes, and then the screws. I had read the reviews, which were mostly positive, but there were alot of comments that the battery was difficult to remove. I struggled with it, and asked my neighbor. She was sitting down, and took the drill, placed it in her lap with the bottom and the battery pack pointing up, used her left thumb to press on the left side ridges, and right thumb and index fingers the press against the ridges and pull up towards your face, and the battery pack comes out easily. If you try to hold it normally and press on the sides and pull down it doesn’t want to release. Place it upside down and pull up. Worked great for me. I use it so infrequently I’m going to make a note and stick it in with the drill for next time.

I was very hesitant to purchase this drill after reading several complaints about removing the battery to charge it. I just received this item, and I had no difficulty removing the battery. Just press the battery release tabs and pull! I have never used a drill before (my trusty little power screwdriver has been mostly adequate), so I can’t speak to any of the other features yet, but don’t let the concern over whether you can get the battery out or not be a deal breaker…

This little drill is amazing! I use it primarily for light housework (drilling holes for drywall anchors, assembling furniture, etc.). The battery life has been fantastic for me after about two months of light use — my first battery has just dwindled from 3/3 to 2/3. The small form factor and weight make it very easy to get into tight places that a Dewalt can’t get into with its bulky battery pack and longer length. The unit comes with a soft case that holds the charger, the drill, and the spare battery. I am not a huge fan of this case, as the layout and fasteners are poor in my opinion and the soft case would be better replaced with a hard one. That said, the case is really my only complaint about this drill and otherwise it’s a fantastic product.

This is a great 12V drill-driver, and I love the size and fit of it in my hand. It has more power than you would think. It’s nearly a perfect product, and it’s my go-to drill over my 18V drill. The only problem I have with it, and it’s a very annoying problem, is that the battery is very hard to remove to put on the charger. I have to resort to using a big pair of pliers to clamp the sides of the plastic battery housing to get it to release its tenacious grip on the drill. Other than that, this is one of the few products I’ve bought here that I can actually say I ‘love”.

THIS IS THE DRILL YOU ARE LOOKING FOR if you do mostly household, lighter-duty type stuff and work. Best features from this new homeowner who uses it 3-4x weekly at this point:1. Form factor: compact and light, I love that the battery is in the handle. This makes it significantly easier to use. It also fits well in the hand, and the weight is balanced.2. Cordless: if you’re unsure, yes, for a drill, go with cordless. (Also, battery life is excellent for this device.)3. Ease of use of variable torque: it’s super easy to control the speed of the drill, which is really useful when using it as a screwdriver. It’s a little more than some other options, but I think that the design and quality here are well worth it.

I’ve been an amateur carpenter/crude furniture maker all my adult life. I have every power tool and USE them. As a now aging 67+ GIRL, I find that holding my heavy 18V cordless drill is a bit hard wield, having aging girlie wrists. I really LOVE this drill. It’s powerful enough for most things and high quality. Spend the extra $$$ and get this one.

I love this little drill. Having owned and used the Makita 18V XLT system for about 14 years, I usually find myself reaching for my old, 20 year old first generation 12V bosch drills because of their light weight. One of them finally died completely, so I picked up a PS31. Even lighter weight with no sacrifice in power. Turns a 1 1/4″ spade bit through plywood with no problem. The 2AH battery is acceptable for now, but may eventually upgrade to more capacity, although that would add a little weight. I do miss being able to stand the drill up on its battery, but considering how often I knock them onto the floor, I should probably consider the inability to do so an upgrade! Yes, as a couple of other reviews have mentioned, the battery is a little difficult to remove from the tool, but I don’t really mind, and it will probably loosen up with wear. Great Bosch build quality, I fully expect this drill to last 20 years too!I like this tool so much, that I have since purchased the multi-head version too!
