10 reviews for BLACK+DECKER 20V MAX Cordless Drill Combo Kit, 4-Tool (BD4KITCDCRL)

  1. Igor

For this money, the best set. The most necessary tools in one box, super quality.

The media could not be loaded.  I’ve previously owned the black and decker drill. Since the pandemic hit and I’ve had more free time to pick up another skill.I had trouble deciding weather to go Ryobi or DeWalt as well as see which bundle would work for me.Honestly 2 things convinced me to go with Black and decker. A YouTube video of a dad who said it’s what his 8 and 10 yrs son and daughter use for their projects, and a mom who did a fantastic job building a deck for her backyard.I figured if it’s safe enough for kids and enough to build a large patio, it should be good enough for anything I can think of. I’m willing to sacrifice power and speed for affordability. One day I’m sure I’ll be ready for an upgrade. This is a fantastic bundle, wouldn’t have minded paying extra for sander and jigsaw to be included. I purchased that separately. I also would have paid extra for a battery with a greater Amp hr. The batteries lasted long enough for each project and each tool did not have to be recharge mid project, then again, I did not need to make that many cuts, but still would like that peace of mind.My first 2 projects included a Pylo box for my daughter and I, and a vertical crate I intend to hang on the wall for my tools. Each project was completed in a couple of hours. The saw and bits that came with the tools did the job.I underestimated the benefit of having an LED light. I work outdoors and my projects took me into the evening and the light was surprisingly useful. The safety button on the circular saw is slightly awkward, however once you get the hang of it, it’s super easy.Has my stamp of approval.

I have had an identical drill for a few years. I wanted to replace the wood floor on my utility trailer but I didn’t want to run an extension cord to a shady spot to work on it. Since I had good results from the drill, I purchased this set. The drill worked as well as the one I owned. I did have some trouble driving decking bolts. Once they hit metal, it would start them but that was it. I thought I would be smart and break out the corded drill but it didn’t drive them as far as this cordless. The circular saw powered through the 11-2×8’s without an issue or recharging. I didn’t need to use the sawzall on this project but I messed around with cutting a few boards and it worked fine. The tasklight, I wasn’t very impressed with. It was bright on objects close up but it lost its intensity by 6 feet or so. It was handy for shining in the engine bay of my truck and adjusted to where I needed to see.I was very pleased with this set and I would purchase it again.

My husband bought me this set for Christmas since I wanted to get into building things on my own. Tackled my first project completely with this set… made a recycled pallet deck with cheap treated fence post planks and a flower box to go along the side. It’s not perfect but it’s sturdy and these tools helped me get it done all by myself 🙂 the saws only come with one blade each so you’ll need to get some more there but over all happy with this set especially for the price.

  5. dmc

The hole truth and nothing but the truth , if you work in construction and are using the tools every day then you need to get a Dewalt or Makita .But if you are someone who just occasionally needs to have decent reliable power tools on hand to do some do it yourself work then you can’t beat the price of these tools my old set fire storm lasted 18 years I still have them but they’re 18 V so I bought The 20 V set as buying 18 V batteries that just don’t last long was a waste of time.

  6. Pagusas

So this is 100% a case of “you get what you pay for”. this 4 piece set is over 1/2 as cheap as many other brands selling 4 tool sets, and if you compare this set to them, you can easily see where all the cost were cut. The drill feels like its completely hollow and made of the cheapest plastic possible. The flashlight feels like it could blow over in the wind. The saw is the tiniest, lightest saw I’ve ever seen in my life. Surprisingly the jigsaw actually feels pretty solid. So I’ve establish this set feels cheap, and thats because it is! However, every tool opperates as its suppose to. The drill is more than enough for simple home projects like hanging pictures or building a simple shelf. It does not have a ton of power to it. Other screwdrivers from other higher end kits feel like they could break my wrist if used wrong. The one in this set would struggle with anything requiring much torque. But all of that is ok, because for the price, the set works, the batteries hold out well on charge, are easy to swap in and out, and the charger is super easy to put on and off. If you need a cheap, 4 piece home closet tool kit, this works well. If you are building out a garage work station that will see tons of use, you HAVE to put more budget than this into your tools.

I was skeptical because of some of the reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. There’s so many good things about this kit that I want to order another one. The only somewhat disappointing tool was the drill, it doesn’t spin at a very high speed so it probably wouldn’t be too efficient on professional jobs but for small projects around the house it gets the job done.I was amazed that it included 2 batteries since they normally cost half the price of the whole kit, plus it came with a charger too. We already had an impact so now we have 3 batteries and 2 chargers.I had my doubts about the circular saw but man that thing cuts through wood like if it was butter, it’s amazing, it cut through 2x4s in seconds. It also has a neat lock out button so you don’t accidentally press the trigger. The reciprocating saw is my favorite, it has the most powerful motor out of all the tools, with the right blade it will cut anything. Finally it also came with a flashlight which is too small but it’s ok, it has LEDs so it’s pretty bright.

I have now owned this set for a few months. I have used for more for lighter duty work and have been pleased with the job it has done. However today I put it to the test while working on removing 4″ screws out of some cedar fencing. The drill just kept performing and was more than powerful enough to keep pace with the task at hand. After I was finished removing the top row of 2×6″ rough cedar fence railing I popped the battery off of the drill and onto the saw and took to altering some post and gate lumber. While being a light weight set of tools, it is no light weight tool when it comes to getting to work and getting the job done.

  9. Mothwoman

I ordered this set of tools because I wanted a drill I could use in my forest camping spot, and the extra tools were just a bonus. It came right before I left for a camping trip, so I took it along, thinking I might use the drill for a small project. My chainsaw broke, and I was fretting about not being able to cut any firewood. I wasted hours trying to figure out how to get it running, when I finally remembered the reciprocating saw. It was easy to use, and solved my problem. It literally made me a happy camper!

  10. J Lee

I kept it in my “save for later” list for a month or so and finally pulled the trigger when it went down to 99 bucks. I’ve built a solid workbench with all the tools with the help of a miter saw (bought separate, not included in the set) and performed various jobs around the house including: cut metal gutter with reciprocating saw, install floating shelves and various other items. All in all, if you’re just building small stuff and fixing stuff around the house, this is really all you need. Oh the battery lasts forever as well.
