Easy to install on a new door without a hole but I am not 100% sure how easy it would be to install on a door with an existing standard-sized hole. We used a 7/8″ drill bit (a 1″ would have been easier but we saved money by using what we had and just moved the bit around a little to increase the hole size ever so slightly) and it installed like a dream. However, there is an adjustment screw that allows the center rod to go farther into or out of the knob part so look for that and adjust as necessary; the center rod that comes is the standard-length and should fit almost all doors. Piece of cake and beautiful.

LOVE THESE KNOBS! Bought 11. I am changing out all my knobs and I painted my doors hi- gloss black and with the crystal door knobs makes a beautiful statement in my home.

With regards to the negative reviews about the lockset no fitting, this is a short lockset with a 2-3/8″ backset. That’s the measurement from the flat edge of the door to the center of the handle. Many doors are 2-3/4″. Measure your door before purchasing.I replaced my old knob in less than 5 mins.I’m only giving it 4 stars because the screws that hold the escutcheons, the large round plates that go up against the door on both sides, do not pass through the lockset as most knob sets do. They instead screw into the door with wood screws. Not a very good design but explains why its so cheap.Otherwise the new locksets are an excellent replacement in my 100 years old house nearly matching the original handles in my house.

I was hesitant to buy this knob because of the reviews stating it was practically unusable if you had a door that had a pre-drilled hole. I wanted to use it to replace a tacky brass knob on my daughters closet door (door is original to our house from the 40’s). I’m not sure what everyone else’s problem was because there was absolutely no problem for my husband to install it. He didn’t need to add any pieces or re-drill anything. All he did was install the knob so the screws lined up vertical on the door rather than horizontal. Easy-peasy. Looks great & works great!

Surprisingly good quality for the price and it looks great. Perfect for adding character back into an old home when previous owners get rid of it for boring “updated” hardware

Excellent replacement for original antique door knob. I would recommend and purchase again.

Looks good and install is easy. It doesn’t full install on standard door holes without modifications. The fasteners for the knob escutcheon are wood screws. I had to glue in “half moon” pieces to the rim of the hole circumference for the screws to grab to.

We build a new place and wanted some classy door knobs. I used these for the closets and they are perfect and beautiful.
