I got this Chromebook for my daughter to use for school. It is well built, the screen is bright, and it has more than enough battery life to last through a school day. It is a bit bigger and heavier than some of the other 2 and 1 Chromebooks that many schools issue for their students, but this means the screen is also bigger and looks great. As well, you can flip the keyboard around and the touchscreen becomes a tablet. My daughter loves this and I am very happy with my purchase.

At first, when I read and saw a lot of reviews about this device, I thought that I would buy a device that would meet the purpose, and I did not expect any further increase in any details of the device. On the contrary, I was a little disappointed before the device delivered .But the shock was when I received the device and did the unboxing … At first, I was amazed by the shape of the slim device and its suitable quality for its price, but you may not get the same design quality in Windows laptops at the same price … The screen is very good, the brightness and colors are excellent, and the touch is responsive … The performance of the device and its speed is very good, and it takes seconds to enter the personal account from the shutdown state … The battery lasts 8 hours with the operation of many applications and maximum brightness …. The sound of the headphones is good, not bad… I did not experience any heat in the device except for a very small amount of heat that was not noticed until I carefully checked it… In short, the device is more than wonderful and an excellent choice for a very good price.

The laptop is very well built and doesn’t feel cheap. Arguably the best chromebook for the price and features on the market. The keyboard is Back lit and the display is good. The 8gb ram gives it fast response and having 64gb of built in storage is very nice. Gives you plenty of storage for your average user. You can always expand storage with SD card or external hard drive. The battery is very good and touch screen is very responsive. The display is bright and vibrant. With consistent use doing web searching and messing around you will get 8 + hours easy. Charging is fast as well. I did alot of comparison shopping and if you are looking for a laptop for everyday use this is an excellent choice. You can download Microsoft Word and excel free from app store and they work very well. It does take a day or two to get use to the chrome o.s. versus using windows. But, that is expected. It lays flat like a tablet would and automatically turns off keyboard when in the tablet position. The touchscreen is just like using a tablet and response is very good. The camera is decent enough for video calls etc. But probably not as good as newer smart phones offer. I came from a windows o.s background and within a few hours I was use to chrome features and navigation. The apps or “programs” are in the task bar which you can be move from bottom left and right side of the screen. At first I was annoyed not being able to move the icons on the home screen as I did with windows machines, but after a while I liked the Taskbar and wasn’t bothered at all. To right click you use two fingers at once to click the pad. This threw me off at first. I kept trying to click the right side of the pad with no luck until I looked that up. Just an FYI if you’re new to chromebook. But, you get use to that quickly. Overall I’d give it a 9/10. I am fairly tech savvy and needed a laptop for email, web surfing, and other basic needs. This was perfect for me and does everything I need a computer to do fast and efficiently. Enjoy.

After reading many reviews I did not expect anything other than a Chromebook. However many of the things that others seem to be critical of are not an issue here….. magnets stick when you close and open into tablet mode. The touch screen works great. The pad works great and the screen is bright. I have reservations because of the many negative reviews. So far so good. I will update you if anything comes up.Update: 7/27/211Backlit keyboard works great too! I think that most people would agree that once you know how to use a chromebook there are few complications. However, I still hate the way the cameras work. Why are they sooooo bad? It seems like this model would at least off a better camera.. ….So I am disappointed about the camera and that I cannot use the blur background in meetings. These seem like small concessions that chromebooks should add. I may actually need to swith to a windows computer because of this issue. Who wants to see my unmade bed during a zoom or teams meeting? Noone., and nooine should have to worry about such details. le

Having always used “Windows”, and therefore completely new to Chromebook, it is a definate learning curve. I feel hampered as I’ve only ever used Microsoft type computers and being elderly may have slowed my learning speed.I will try to update this review as time goes by.My old laptop was extremely slow and I was looking for something different and speedy.First impressions after having a Chromebook for 1 week:-It is FAST. Pages load really fast!-It was easy to transfer all my data & settings from my old computer, thanks to using Chrome in past years. All my photos are there. The Chromebook shows you how and guides the process.-The keyboard lighting CAN be brightened to improve key visibility. This was one of my big concerns as many reviews mention it. The key were hard to see due to the low lighting at first. I didn’t find a reference to it on the Chromebook at first and needed a quick fix. A search on Google showed me how. I followed the instructions and now I can see the keys very well in normal household lighting.-It is a learning curve to learn the keyboard shortcuts. I am jotting down notes in a notebook.-There is a Chromebook simulator for learning.-It has a easy, sensitive touchscreen.-Screen brightness is easy to adjust.-No detectable heat output.-Battery lasts a long time.-Tablet mode: Open it completely until the two outside surfaces touch and it is completely flat. The touchscreen is quite responsive.- Any questions I have regarding how to use this Chromebook can be easily answered by a quick Google search.- The screen comes on instantly when opening, if I don’t turn the Chromebook off. Navigation icons are at the bottom of the screen.Still learning; will update.

If you want a laptop with a nice-sized screen, 360 rotation, and touchscreen it’s a great laptop at a great price. I’ve had mine for 3 months now with no issues. I use it for college and a charge lasts me all day until I get back to my dorm. If I don’t use it much over the weekend say an hour a day then a full charge will last all weekend. The only downside is that the touch screen is capacitive and not active. If you want to write a lot of notes on your laptop and you can spare another hundred or so get the C436 it has an active screen. My notes are really sloppy and it’s not the easiest but it works fine and I only use it in lectures to make annotations on pdfs and then take notes on paper when I get back to my dorm. I wouldn’t use it for notes all the time because of that. But for the price it’s the best all around for what it offers.

This one replaced an older and slower Chromebook that still works, but is out of its service date. I’ve been watching movies and streaming video with it, paired with a good set of earphones. The picture and the sound are awesome! There is no buffering or pausing at all—it’s flawless. I don’t miss Windows . . . even a little bit.

This is my second chromebook. Compare with Samsung 11.6” Chromebook, monitor is better, response faster and more storage spaceOverall , good1. OK screen, bright is enough if not under sunlight2. 8100Y CPU is enough power for multitask and smooth3. Build quality looks good and durable4. Speaker not bad and loud enoughBad1. hard to open monitor when put on the desk2. Only one Type A USB portsThe end of Google AUP to this laptop is June, 2026Recommend chromebook

My old Dell laptop was nearing the end of its life. Slow, sluggish and the battery would no longer hold a charge. I decided to look into Chromebooks and give one a try. I’ve used other ASUS products and was pleased, so I had confidence their Chromebook would be a good one…and it is. So far everything about it works perfectly and the more I get used to it the better I like it. The keyboard is responsive, I can hook up a remote mouse, which I prefer, and on the occasions where I use it as a touch-screen pad instead of a coputer, it seems to work well. All in all I’m pleased and recommend this product.

Got tired from the Windows operating issues (constant updates, anti-virus, slow operation, other), bought this Chrome book, happy with the decision. This is a good product.
