I’m a novelist and do most of my writing from bed. It’s just more comfortable and allows blood to flow better through my extremities over a long period of time. Problem was, even with my lightweight laptop I found myself lifting it with one hand while typing with the other. Hardly practical. So I started looking for a lap desk or tray to accommodate a laptop at an angle; that way the keyboard was elevated and would make typing so much easier. I found several that fit that bill, but unfortunately none were made with someone with a big belly or wide butt. I could tell by the dimensions that they wouldn’t work. Then I came across this very simple lap day desk with an elevated tray that I hoped would do the job. Good news, it did. And better yet, at a fraction of the costs of the other bigger desks. Its very lightweight, so when you need to get up for any reason, there’s no big deal setting it to one side. I’m glad I took a chance on it. Its made writing in bed so much easier

I have an HP EliteBook 8760w Mobile Workstation, which is a big, heavy, business-class laptop that weighs 7.80 pounds. Its body is 16.4 inches x 10.7 inches. It’s more suited for use on a desk, but I like to use it on my lap while watching TV. It gets hot on my lap, but if I put a pillow under it, it sinks in and the air vents get obstructed.This adjustable lap desk has been an excellent solution. The EliteBook just fits on it. The body of the laptop overhangs about half an inch on each side, but the rubber pads on its bottom make contact with the lap desk, and keep it from sliding, even at a steep angle. The tab at the front of the lap desk surface that swivels up to prevent a laptop from sliding forward also contributes to stability, so I have had no problem whatever in that regard.Not much heat transfers through the body of the lap desk because it has two layers of plastic with some airspace between them. That is with the top closed. There’s way more air if the top surface is adjusted from flat to a raised angle. Even at that, the lap desk cannot transfer heat to the user anyway because there are thick, comfortable pads attached underneath providing plenty of insulation and airspace between the lap desk and the lap.This item is well designed, well made, and sturdy. I would highly recommend it.

We still have our kiddo in a 5 point booster seat. Needed something to hold stickers, iPad, color on – this works great. I like the ability to adjust the desk depending on activity. Fits easily beside the booster seat so easy to grab/use.

Absolutely love this little lap desk! Haven’t had any issues with it and the plastic seems durable. Really love that the cushions are pretty firm, they feel like they’re filled with beads. Makes it comfortable for my legs without just sinking and also gives it a little more stability. I’d be careful around pets and little ones as I’m sure the adjustable panel inside would snap right in two if jumped on by an excited toddler. Really love the little stand at the bottom, it has a rubber texture that makes it harder for your laptop to just slip off when you have it tilted. Would definitely buy again!

When my friends see me using this product they want one too! Great to use with shut ins to set up movies to keep them at eye level and your ill person from hunching over to watch a dvd or a movie on line. I even bought one for my friend for her birthday! Would make great Christmas gifts too!

There aren’t too many reviews on this at the time of writing this review, and I figured this product was good enought that it was worth letting other people know. The box that the lapdesk comes in is far more compact than I expected, but that is due to the fact that the lapdesk itself is thin, but well-made. The cushioning is great and the desk itself is very stable, even when the platform is inclined for use. I am using this with a 13 inch Macbook Pro, which it is perfect for and leaves about an inch on either side of extra space. If you are intending to use this with a 15 inch laptop, it might be pushing things a bit, but you should be fine with 14 or below.Very comfortable and very affordable. Time will tell how long it lasts, but a cursory glance at everything seems like the build quality is pretty good for an affordable, plastic lapdesk option. Would definitely recommend.
